Oh I'm on the borrow into Neverland right now.:confused3

I'm short a few points for my March 2013 trip.

When can I borrow my 2014 points?

I'm thinking Jan 2013?

I can't buy any more points from Disney as I just used that option up to book a room for my son who is proposing at Disney in January 2013.

Thanks and
Hugs Mel

You can borrow from your 2014 UY points when you make a reservation that will take place during your 2013 UY and you don't have enough points in your 2013 UY to cover the reservation.

If your March 2013 trip falls in your 2012 UY, you can't borrow any 2014 points for that trip. If it falls in your 2013 UY, you can borrow 2014 points for that trip.

My use year is August

With an August UY, your March 2013 trip falls in your 2012 UY--that means you can use banked 2011, 2012, and borrowed 2013 UY points to cover that trip.

Unfortunately, that means no way to access your 2014 UY points. Everything is based on the UY that the trip will take place so once you figure that out, just know you can use banked points from the previous UY, points for the UY of travel, and borrow from the UY after travel.

Thank-You
It looks like I will be looking for a room (cash) somewhere for one night.
Maybe checkout the new AOA.

I don't think it worth looking for someone to transfer in 14 points?
I've never done a transfer before.

This is another factor that people don't consider when choosing a use year. I have a friend who had an August use year but liked to travel in June. It limited her borrowing power and forced her to wait until August to travel because she was always borrowing. They ended up selling their points when they bought an RV.

If you wait until 7 months, you can buy up to 24 points from DVC at $15 each.

Hi Hon
I asked Member Services today and I can't buy any more once time use points as I just did that for my son to book a reservation --he is proposing on our trip in Jan 2013.
Sometimes a mom just does things for their kids and it messes up things,,but I love him.
The next time I could buy points would be August 2013 which is too late,,thanks for the advise though.

A few time before we bought I rented points for one night...they were on the board, so perhaps someone would transfer a small number...can't help but look every once in a while

One option, though, would be to get a transfer of more points and then save your own for future travel.

So, instead of just getting the 14, get enough to cover a few nights and then keep your own points for future travel.

Good luck!

Where are you staying? If it isn't OKW, you could stay there and probably have the points needed for the entire stay.

That may just be a good option,
