We are planning on bringing our own soft drinks and water. What's the best way to get them on, and to your cabin without having to carry them around, until the rooms are open? We plan on trying to be at the terminal around 11:00 ish.. or would it be better to wait until the room are open? what time are the cabins normally available for you to enter?

Update: We had planned to take them on with us, but when we got to bag drop off spot, the guy who helped us, took them out and stuck a sticker with our room number on them. When I asked him, he was like they will be fine. They made it to our room without any issues. It was really nice, be able to move around without a bunch of stuff. We only had a 1 day day/Backpack with us.

Side note: We took a case water and 12 pack of coke, for just the 2 of us. DH thought it would be to much, It worked out perfect, we did not have any left over
.

Last year we had a case of beer and a case of water. The man taking our luggage at the curb stuck a sticker on them wrote our stateroom number on it and they delivered it to our room with the rest of our luggage.

Disney requires you to bring all

While the porters (not DCL employees) will sometimes take your beverages, please do not do this. Disney requires that you carry them on board for a reason. Luggage is not handled gently and the possibility of beverages leaking is very real. Luggage tends to be thrown into a communal pile so your leaking beverages could easily soak someone else's bag. Please, please, do as Disney asks and carry your beverages aboard.

We always put our beverages into a small, rolling suitcase and take them on board that way. We just keep it with us until our room is ready. If you would rather wait until your room is available you will want to board after 1:30.

The soft drinks are free on board right out of the fountain. Why are you planning on bringing those on board? I packed a 1 Qt Rubbermaid container and we would fill it with lemonade to keep in the room fridge. This was fantastic. I would use it as a mixer with my raspberry vodka i brought on in my suit case. My husband just liked to drink it.

Something to think about is the cost of wine on board. It's a $20 corking fee if you want to drink wine you brought from home at the restaurants. The kind of wine we like was on the premium list. We purchased a 3 night package. If we had just brought 3 bottles on and paid the corking fee, we would have been $30 in the good even with the cost of the wine ($20/bottle on land). You could do even better with a less expensive wine.

I'm not the OP, but some like to bring their own soft drinks because they have a preference for something Disney doesn't offer on board or at the beverage station (root beer, Mountain Dew, Pepsi, Dr. Pepper, etc.).

I bring my own soft drinks because I like my Diet Mountain Dew in the bottle. To each their own. I use a rolling suitcase and keep it with us on embarkation.

Fair enough! Enjoy your time on the boat!

The only reason i questioned is that sodas are not free on other boats, and I was not sure you were aware that they are on DCL.

Rolling suitcase/duffel bag is the best way to go.
