Hoping someone has info on when the new Disney Visa Cards will be coming out. We want to purchase our AP's using the Disney Club card discount and we could get more "bang for our buck" by waiting to purchase them with the Disney Visa and earn some reward points. (hey - if you have to put them on a credit card anyway, you may as well put them on a card that helps you get points towards more Disney vacations.)

I am actually quite stoked about these new cards. I use my DC card quite a bit and certainly have gotten my moneys worth from it each year. I am not so bummed at it's leaving if i can get a Disney Visa that helps me earn points towards a future WDW vacation.

From everything I've read, they will start taking applications on March 4th. I don't know how long it will take to process your application and issue the card. I wish it was just a little bit sooner as I'm leaving for Disney on the 6th and would love to be able to charge everything during the trip and earn points towards the next one! But I am stoked about this. Who needs GM points? I don't buy new cars that often. But I do go to Disney a lot!

I did get an email about it a few months ago about it starting in March.

Go ahead and click on http://disney.go.com/visa/disneysecret/index.html -you have to sign in by selecting where you heard about the card. It asks you to fill in you name, etc and will notify you when to sign up and gives you a little information on the card.

I am confused... I went to the site and it said Disneysecrets.com with a picture of Aladdin and Jasmine, but nothing else. Is there some thing to click on to get into the site?

Thanks:)

Thanks, that worked! Don't want to miss out on getting those wonderful bonus points! Our trip is the end of March, so hopefully it will be here by then, and we can start collecting points toward something wonderful!!!

Anyone know what the APR is going to be on this card...?? I have a baaad feeling that it is going to be high, high, high!
And will the points be of equal value to the Membership Reward Points I got when I used American Express at WDW??
Just another cheapening down at WDW...throwing out AMEX for VISA!

I don't remember hearing what the APR was, but also, I don't think this is replacing the American Express white glove treatment policy. This is just a visa that you can use to earn points towards Disney vacations. I think you'll be able to use those points for hotel stays and park tickets. This was just the impression I got from what I read about the new card.

Like many credit cards these days, the APR will likely be determined according to your credit rating.... I know that the Target Visa is.

Let's hope balance transfers add up the points....because BOY do I have balances I could transfer (in large part to previous WDW trips) :)

The White Glove Treatment program is gone. This is due to Disney shifting its association to Visa instead of AMEX.

No specific info on the APR, other than its supposed to have a "low introductory rate". My guess is that the APR will be comparable to other rewards cards. As with all of them, if you carry a balance, its best to get the lowest rate possible. If you don't carry a balance, then the rewards cards become a good deal.

Right now all we carry is American Express and a 6.35% VISA. I doubt the Disney VISA will beat that, but I want it anyway! If I can get WDW rewards, I'll only use it to book Disney vacations....if it seems worth more than the Membership Rewards Points...

Well, Target's Visa is VERY high (and I have excellent credit) unless you get some kind of introductory special. I signed up for the 10% off, got a credit limit of like $20K and a 18-19% rate. Needless to say, the one 10% off purchase was all that was EVER put on that card. I pay my Visa off everymonth, but I just thought that the rate was horrible and it is a very ugly card!

Does anyone know how the reward points will work or what they will be worth?

I have the Target Visa, and although my limit is no where near yours, my APR is nowhere near as high, either. According to the breakdown, there are 4 APR's... 6%, 9.9%, 15.9% and 19.9%. I wonder if the APR has to do with your credit limit and not necessarily your credit rating? Actually I think the card is really cool looking!

Anyway, back to the subject... I will use my Disney Visa for my trips instead of cash... have the cash in the bank at home and pay it off right away.. no interest... good points.. I hope!

Let's hope balance transfers add up the points....because BOY do I have balances I could transfer

That would be awesome, I doubt it. I am sure like with any credit card you could transfer balances, but i can't imagine balance transers getting you points.

I am sure the interest rate will be not so hot, but like most others this card will be used for purchases where i have the money in the bank and the full balance will be paid at the end of the month. (mostly my purchases will be Disney related so as to get the most bang for my buck points-wise.)

Ok, I checked my Target card and the high rate was on cash advances. The other rate was pretty low, but no miles or freebies so it will still be canceled.
