Waitlist questions

I set a waitlist to replace a reservation and I just cancelled that reservation it was set to replace. If the waitlist goes thru, will DVC automatically pull points that are now available (a mix of OTUP and transferred in points from a different membership) or do I need to call them and tell them that the reservation the waitlist was set to replace was cancelled and to pull available points?

Also, I want to reallocate points so that my one time use points and transferred in points that have a sooner banking deadline are used up and my bankable baylake points are in my dashboard again. Is this possible without me having to cancel and rebook everything? TIA

When you placed the wait-list, you should have selected the points allocation you wanted to use. I don't know if the system is smart enough to use your OTU and transferred points first. I doubt it though.

Not sure why you cancelled the reservation, I would have something booked up just in case waitlist never matches
There is a sequence of what points are taken first but OTUP I’m not sure of, probably in Current UY
1st Holding
2nd Banked
3rd Borrowed (if you have previously borrowed in)
4th Transferred
5th Current UY allowance
6th Option to borrow more

If you want the waitlist to use eligible points just call or chat and just have them add the note that is what you now want. It’s simple.

If you have another trip booked in the same UY as the freed up OTU points and transferred points you can reallocate into that trip, as long as you are at least 31 days or more from it.

Any of your own banked or borrowed points will get used first but then it will use OTU and transferred points to replace any current UY points your have in that reservation

Thank you! I just chatted with them and they were able to reallocate and put the note on the waitlist to take the available points as you indicated, whew !
