When are DVC annual meetings? I'm ready!

Yup, I already made my ressies this afternoon. I'm so excited! Twelve whole nights-I've never stayed that long. A week at OKW over Thanksgiving with DH and DMIL (Shhh! Don't tell her-especially anyone from Gurnee, Ill area-it's a surprise), then I'm staying an extra 6 nites by myself. So what do y'all think-are the DVC annual meetings usually held that week right after Thanksgiving. I thought I heard that once, and I hope that's the case in 2005. Actually, I've got my ressies for that second week at BCV, but now we sweat it out waiting for the 7 month window to reserve Thanksgiving at OKW.

What goes on at these meetings? I'd love to go to SSR's on the first since I check in that day. It is our very first DVC trip. We purchased 260 points in November. It's not all boring lectures is it?

I've been to two annual meetings so far - I don't find them boring at all! The Q & A at the end is almost always very interesting. Last year, I found the remarks by Jim Lewis both informative and easy to listen to. The whole thing only lasts an hour.

Wow, thanks! Is it too early to start packing yet? After getting the "scoop" on the upcoming OKW pool slide 12/2003, I can't wait to be there in case they casually mention any other big news.

The first 10 minutes is boring, they go over the official business. Then they have a slide presentation on upcoming changes at the resort. Then there's a
Q & A with questions from the audience. They limit it to strictly one hour total. The board members and managers do hang around for a little while after if you want to speak with them personally.

Simba's Mom, the OKW annual meeting is usually held the week after Thanksgiving (except the year it was held the second week in December - 2003?). I appreciate DVC managment's efforts to let members know the dates much earlier than previous years. It used to be we did not know the actual dates until March/April or so.

MrGrumpy222, I have attended the OKW meeting every year since 1995. The Board Meeting lasts about five minutes & follows the same format every year. The Association meeting followed a minute or two later; again same format as previous years ... budget presentation & budget question & answer; adjournment of the formal meeting followed by general info & general Q&A. I do not find it boring. It is definitely not a lecture format.

I find it interesting for the first time the OKW is later in the morning. We get to sleep in for once!! Thank you!! Several years ago an OKW member got up & requested a later starting time for the annual meeting because he was at Pleasure Island the night before the meeting !

Rumor has it the OKW meeting is later in the morning this year because OKW members like to talk !! I find it interesting to talk to DVC CMs before & after the meeting. It is a great way to get to know the CMs who are running DVC & your resort. CMs welcome any & all input from members - at the annual meeting & any other time, too!
