When and why did VMK shut down?

i've been hearing that it shut down :S

do you no why? and when?

Also has anyone checked like all over the internet for the game. Because some people do re create (not remake) the game and put it back online.

it shut down like a year or two ago
it was supposed to be a one year promotion for disney
but ended up being extended for awhile, like two or three years.
disney was losing money from it, not gaining
so they shut it down
& if they did re create it, the vmk people would have found it by now
trust me .

To clarify, there's no way to re-open the game, or create it from scratch.

Yeah, it was supposed to be a one year promotion for Disney, but the extended it and when they realized it was losing them money, they shut it down. I think somebody made a VFK (virtual family kingdom) but it has nothing to do with disney and is one of the worst computer games I have ever played, I went on for about two seconds then vowed never to go on again. There have been rumors that Disney will make something like it again, in like 10-20 years, but you'd have to pay like $10-$15 a month to play. Which so isn't worth it. And I doubt it is even true.

I think Disney would have found out if there was a duplicate/reopening/VMK-from-scratch kinda thing and they would've taken action by now.
