Hi There,

I am sure with all the experts out there, someone would be able to assist me. When and where is the best time and place to have a DIS meet on the 4 day Wonder?

All suggestions would be welcomed....I recall a similar thread awhile back and have exhausted all means of locating it..so I hope you all don't mind my re-asking the questions.

Thanking you all in advance,
Vivian

Hi Vivig,

I too am planning a Dis meet (two actually... I think I'm a keener). Anyways, my mom and I have planned Dis meets before, and while one of those "secret" sections of I think it is deck 7 out on a public veranda is supposedly rather nice, the wind was too high for us to use this area.

We found the promenade lounge to be quite comfortable (padded chairs instead of deck chairs) and was big enough for our entire group.

As for the day, it depends if you're on the eastern or western. I generally prefer a day at sea, and not the first day (everyone is running around getting ressies sorted out, acustoming themselves to the ship etc). So if you're on the eastern, the Sunday or the Monday would be good, and if you're on the western, I think the Monday would be best.

Again, everyone has their own likes/dislikes, so it would be best to talk about your plans with your Dis group (no two are alike) and see what everyone's plans are.

Hope this helps

Thanks for the reply...

You mentioned the promenade..can you remind me where exactly that is..also we are doing the 4 day Wonder...so I was thinking the first day since our day at sea is the day before we leave the ship. But I can see how that can be a litle pushed for time...

your thoughts are greatly appreciated....

Our group on a recent 7 Day Magic cruise had two meets set for the first day. We met at 3:00 PM in the mid-ship Atrium area on Deck 4 and then went downstairs to Deck 3 to have a group picture taken on the stairs outside Lumieres. 3:00 PM allowed time for people to have boarded, been to their rooms, and was far enough in advance of the mandatory boat drill to not conflict.

We met later that night at 10:00 PM at the Promenade Lounge just next to the Internet Cafe. That was after the 2nd show let out.

Our thoughts on meeting the first day was that it gave people time to meet each other before going on excursions, etc.

Worked out well.

I know on our 2/28 Western 7-day on the Magic we are planning on the Promenade Lounge (deck 3 aft) at 10AM Sunday - after breakfast & before we pull into port in Key West and before the excursion groups meet there at 11:30. Sounded like a good time for everyone.

Vivig,

This is the exact question I need answered too!

We are planning a small DIS meet for the 5/23 Wonder 4-nighter. I think we will try to meet the first day in the promenade lounge.

If you could let me know how your meet was I would appreciate it!

There were about 6 board families on a four day in July and we met in the promenade lounge at 3:00 for a quick meet - worked out great- the kids were able to make plans for a later get together and the adults then knew faces when we bumped into each other at the sail away, dinners etc. When we saw each other on deck on another day we had the opportunity to get to know each other...
I would encourage you to try to have it on the first day...
Barbara

Thanks for the info, Barbara. Since we are on the 4-day, we want to meet our new friends ASAP so we will organize a meet on the first day as suggested.

On the 11/15 Eastern we all met at the sail away party, thanks to nametags that one person made up & sent us. It was a great chance for all the kids to meet & the adults to chat a bit. The ladies planned High Tea on Sunday afternoon, then we did an impromtu wine & cheese in one of the staterooms on Thursday afternoon for a couple hours.
