So my family and I went on our first ever WDW vacation in August. We were on the DDP. My sister and I had stalked the dining review board beforehand and decided to write our own. School started as soon as we got back and we never got around to it. :confused3 We took pictures of almost everything. Sometimes we ate before we grabbed the camera. Oops. Some of the pictures are dark... we didn't use the flash in the dark places.

So to explain the title... my sister and I had so much fun that we decided to go back to WDW during our spring break! We'll be back in the world from March 13-20. We are gonna be on the DDxDP. Once we get back we'll have a bunch more reviews to share with you guys!

Here is the cast for the first half of the dining plan:
DD(52) - loves food and will try anything.
DM(50) - was visiting her friend for part of the trip and ended up only spending a few days in the world. she's a crazy asian woman.
DS(18) - loves sushi, steak, and cheese.
Me(20) - i don't even know where to start. i love food... hmmm. :goodvibes

So, the actual review for the first part is gonna be kinda scattered. I'll organize them by restaurant but they won't be in order since I don't even remember... LOL.

I do remember what our first meal in disney was... 'Ohana! So we'll start with that. With all the hype that was on the boards for 'Ohana... I was really excited when I was finally able to get an ADR.

They bought out the bread first and we hardly ate any... even though we're bread lovers.

DS really loved the salad. I thought it was pretty good.

DSCN1471.jpg

We really enjoyed the peanut sauce. The other two were okay.

DSCN1473.jpg

These were okay. I'm half Korean though... so, I've had wayyy better.

DSCN1474.jpg

DS and DD loved the wings. I ate one and thought it was okay.

DSCN1475.jpg

DS and I liked the noodles... but we don't often meet noodles we don't like.

DSCN1476.jpg

I don't remember tasting the broccoli. DS says she liked it.

DSCN1477.jpg

I guess we were too distracted to take better pics of the meat? Turkey was dry. Steak was a little overcooked. Pork was tasty.

DSCN1478.jpg

The shrimp were delicious! We asked for seconds. My dad even asked for thirds, LOL.

Hmmmm, it was delicious! Totally lived up to the hype and was enjoyed by all.

Overall it was a pretty good meal. It has its pros and cons in my opinion. I don't think we'll go back next month... but would definitely try it again someday! The restaurant is really pretty and I liked the atmosphere. It was a fun start to our first WDW vacation!

Thanks for the reviews-can't wait for more.
Did you think Ohana's was worth it and would you go again?;)

You're so silly!

Count me in! popcorn::

Woo! For my first review follower!

I'm about to start another one!

OOOOH! I can't wait to eat their in May:cool1:

I hope you have an awesome time!

Yeah, it wasn't my fave place but I liked it and would go again. Maybe not right away... but eventually. The shrimp and bread pudding were awesome!

Thanks for the review :thumbsup2

You're very welcome! (:

Wonderous review, oh gosh that ice cream!

Thank you very much.... and I have to agree. That ice cream was hmmm delicious on that bread pudding! We were very full and still ate it up.

I would have to say this was the best bread we had all trip! It was so delicious covered in the macadamia nut butter that we ate it all up. I love bread. Hmmm.

DSCN2283-1.jpg

Since Kona lets you order smoothies as a drink... that's exactly what we did! We each picked a different one and they were all delicious! I had the raspberry one and I loved it. I think the others were strawberry banana and perhaps a tropical one? Can't remember exactly...

DSCN2284-1.jpg

So I had the scallops and shrimp and I thought it was really good. I would definitely order it again. It was cooked perfectly and I enjoyed the sauces that came on the plate. Hmmm, it was tasty.

DSCN2286-1.jpg

DS had the tuna oscar. She thought her dish was okay. I don't exactly why though. I'll let her tell ya'll. I remember her giving me a piece of crab. It was really good.

DSCN2287-1.jpg

DD had the teriyaki steak. He thought it was good. I think it was a little chewier than he would have liked.

DSCN2288.jpg

I really love chocolate so I went for the lava cake. It was nice. Not the best chocolate dessert I've ever had but good.

DSCN2289.jpg

DS picked the white chocolate cheesecake which was fantastic. Really rich and creamy! If you like cheesecake you should try it.

DSCN2290.jpg

I'm sure I tried it... I just don't remember. I'm sure he liked it. If he didn't, I would have remembered that... LOL, I make sense to myself...

Overall we had a very enjoyable time at Kona. My sister and I are probably going to eat there next month! Hmmm.... bread... :lovestruc

love the O'hana food pictures, I am really craving for some bread pudding. ;)

Hmmm, bread pudding would be so good right now. It would help me forget that I have to go to class in like an hour...

So, I'm DS and may be making some comments on the food throughout the course of this report. So, about the food. I liked the Tuna Oscar, I just thought it was missing something. The wasabi hollandaise was good, just a little under seasoned in my opinion. I'm also not used to having tuna rare, and warm. I usually eat it completely raw in sushi or out of a can lol. Overall, it was good, but I am planning on ordering something else the next time we go.

Everything looks great so far! We have been wanting to try both Ohana for dinner and Kona. Those pics might have just made up my mind. Can't wait for the rest.

I'm going to update with some random cs meals.

The first one I'm going to review is Flame Tree. After hearing all the rave reviews on the board we had to check this place out! I'm glad we did though because it was pretty awesome and a great deal for the dp.

DD got the ribs. Not the best I've ever had but they were good and a great portion size. I liked the corn bread. The beans were a little hard. Would have been better if they had cooked longer. DS and DM also got the ribs. They both enjoyed them

I ordered the pulled pork sandwich which was super yummy. It wasn't dry at all and very filling.

I see pie in the background but I really don't remember if that was any good... I'm guessing it was just okay?

At one point my sister and I separated from our parents in Epcot and I had really wanted to try the fish and chips in England. I waited a while in line and then found out they weren't on the dp and because I waited in line... I decided to pay out of pocket. It wasn't really worth it. Kinda meh.

And I shall end this update with a snack!
After hearing so much about it on the boards, we had to try a dolewhip float! It was really good and refreshing! We loved it. ;)

I can't wait to read your reviews. We are going to Boma's for my sons b-day when we go so I am interested in that one. If anyone does a b-day while you are there can you tell me what the CM's did? I am curious!
