Wheelchair pusher and loud areas - Whisper Unit?

So hear me out ( so to speak ) ....

My wife and I love Disney. As many here know, it's one of the best places in the world to accommodate people with DISabilities.

As the wheelchair pusher though, it's not always easy in such a cacophonous place to hear each other since I'm standing behind her when pushing. This sometimes results in frustration since we're not always "in sync" :)

Then last year, we did the Keys to the Kingdom tour ( which really showed again how people don't always care or respect people in wheelchairs, but that's another story ). As part of the tour, everyone is handed a whisper unit so that even when we're walking through the dense Disney crowds with the tour guide, we can clearly hear him as though we were in a quiet room together.... Magic...

So obviously, they have a bank of these things, built for multiple users/customers. My question is, is there a simple consumer level 1-to-1 version of this? has anyone here used something like this? I would *love* to have something like this so we can talk casually without having to shout over crowds and clearly hear each other while we're moving around the loud park.

What a good idea. Have you contacted any of the companies that sell or rent this technology? Also, look into walkie talkies with a wireless earpiece.

I'm not really sure where to look. I saw Disney's "bank" of units. I don't want to buy a whole "system". I'd like to get a small one-to-one version. I'll do some research and report back here if I find anything. But I wanted to put out some feelers here thinking maybe someone is in the same boat :)

@xipetotec - we share the same conundrum. I would like to find a solution like this for our family as well!

Please keep us posted if you find anything!

Not bad, but I'd rather have something that won't disturb other guests. I'm thinking maybe something like what bikers might use, like a 2-way intercom system or something. Only I'd like something compact like what disney uses for their tours.... I'll keep looking :)
Well, why didn't you say so? :D https://www.ebay.com/p/Motorbike-Mo...Ami5WI_Jp6tIKvJcmxsP6dhZAPsxab5BoCDokQAvD_BwE

If not that specific one, I found it by searching for "2-way intercom system mobile".

Found another one/suggestion: search Amazon for Motorcycle Helmet Intercom

I’m not sure how available it is for customers but my daughter uses a light speed personal fm system in school. She wears ear pieces and the teacher has a microphone on a lanyard. So when it’s on my daughter hears the teacher in her ear. However it’s only a one way communication device

Have you heard of Tandem Talk? It’s a wireless system used by people on tandem bikes.

I think walkie talkies might be the simplest and least expensive solution.

You can fix a way to attach one of them to the wheelchair arm and then one to the back of the wheelchair. Then no one has to hold one. You may have to use bungi cords and masking tape to secure them but it should work. Velcro might be enough.

I think a deeper problem may be hearing all together. Have you had a hearing test recently to check it all out?
