We are renting a wheelchair for my elderly mother in law while at WDW.
Are there wheelchair drop off areas at the theme park entrances - where do you park your vehicle?

Another note: We have an ADR for Teppanedo-is this restaurant wheelchair accessible? I remember a rather long staircase to get to the entrance.:confused3

The resturant is very wheelchair friendly. There is an elevator just to the left of the entrance of the Department Store at the corner. It takes you right up into the resturant at the front podium.

If she has a disabled hang tag from her state DMV you can use the disabled parking. Note that to get a tag a person does not have to be the driver (or even have a license).

Otherwise, each Park has a drop-off area near the front but then you have to go almost all the way to the exit to get back to regular parking.

For Japan, when you approach the main building from the World Showcase Promenade, on the left side, almost at the street-level entrance to the Department Store is an elevator which goes upstairs. It can fit a person in a chair or ECV plus a few additional people..

Just time for quick answers.

You can drop off at all parks - at MK it is at the Ticket and Transporation Center.

If she has a folding wheelchair, someone can lift it onto the parking lot tram and can step into the tram, you cannpark in the regular lot.

If she has a handicapped parking permit, each park has a lot. More info in the disABILITIES FAQs thread near the top of this board.

There is also an elevator that goes to that restaurant. It's near the front entrance to the store.

Thanks for all your help.

It is a folding wheelchair but she won't be able to step up into the tram from regular parking lot so I guess we'll do the drop off and have her wait for us.

Sounds like a plan.
