Wheelchair and rides

Check in day today and my husband hurt his foot. Sprained possibly fractured. We’ve already ordered a wheelchair to be delivered but they can’t get it here until 11am tomorrow. All our plans are out the window. I’m pretty bummed right now.

My question is do we need to go to guest services in the morning and get a pass for the wheelchair? Years ago I broke my ankle right before a Disney trip and we just entered all the rides through the exit. What is the protocol now? Thanks.

Are you renting a wheelchair or ECV? An ECV will be much easier for everyone so that no one is pushing. That will wear you out, especially in the heat!

Select Mobility across the street at the Best Western Park Place Inn (I think) is always really great to work with. I'm guessing they may be able to get you one much sooner than tomorrow at 11am. They will be closed now but open at 7am tomorrow. Or you can go online and reserve one now to be delivered to your hotel. My mom had knee replacement surgery and uses an ECV while in the park, otherwise she would get tired a lot quicker and not have as much enjoyment.

Regarding in the parks - you do not have to get any sort of pass. Just show up to each ride and then they'll give you a return time. Rides off the top of my head: Indiana Jones has a special designated area that you will get a pass to return and then the whole party will enter through the exit. The Fantasyland rides also will give you a return time to come back and go through the exit so whoever is needing a wheelchair/ECV will not have to stand or walk through the lines. Big Thunder Mountain you can get a return time to come back and go through the exit to enter on the opposite side. Pirates is the same.

Don't be bummed! You'll still be able to do everything and keep your plans. You'll find things are easy to navigate and you'll still have a good time. :)

We do didn't do an ecv because the company the hotel partners with said the ecv charge runs out at 4-5 hours. We weren't sure about availability of charging stations around the park or if we would have to return to the hotel to charge.

I'm shocked they told you that! The rest of us walk a solid 24,000 steps a day at Disneyland on average and her ECV still goes strong at the end of the night. We've even used Scooterbug and never had that issue (the one that partners with Disney). The battery should last a full day as long as it's charged the night before.

Maybe the company your hotel partners with for ECV doesn't have the quality needed for a day in the parks.
I know Select Scooter's equipment is perfect for touring the parks all day.

I use Select Scooters for all my trips to DLR and have never had an issue with the battery life.
I charge it every night and it goes from rope drop to close.
The battery is still in the strong range even at the end of the day.

Select Scooter does deliver to most of the area hotels. But as mentioned it is right at the cross walk on Harbor in the lobby of the BestWestern Park Place Inn if they can't deliver to your hotel.

Good luck
