I will be traveling with mother and 4 kids to WDW the first week of August. My son (9) is recovering from a ruptured spleen right now and the doctor has given us the ok to keep our vacation plans. The question I have is that he seem to tire so easily right now that I am worried that he might not be able to walk as much as us. Do they have wheel chairs for rent there or should I get one here and find a way to transport it if he needs one?

Hi, mother moto!

If you post this on the disABILITIES board, other moms can probably give you some better advice than I can about children. Having said that, I would suggest renting a child's size wheelchair from an off-site provider.

The wheelchairs at the Disney parks are adult size and the big, heavy kind. Your son would probably be more comfortable in a wheelchair that is more his size.

If you go over to disABILITIES board and look down through the threads there for ones that have "wheelchair" or "ECV" in the title, you will find a list of the providers at WDW with their websites and phone numbers.
