What's your most embarrassing moment at WDW Florida?

Come on everyone - spill the beans! I'll start:

We were in one of those posh little Disney souvenir shops (I think it was at MGM) where the staff are so courteous when my DS (16) accidentally dropped a plastic bottle of 7UP on the floor. Unfortunately it exploded upon contact and, instead of just trickling out (which would have been bad enough), it literally bounced all round the shop floor as if it were jet propelled, spraying a mist over everything and everyone in the vicinity. I may add that the shop was packed to the brim at the time. Sheer embarrassment I can tell you!

The staff were very good about the incident but inside I could see that they were mildly panicking because they had to cone off the whole area until someone washed the floor and for a few minutes it was pandemonium.

But, full marks to the staff for their professionalism - all they were concerned about was that my DS got a replacement drink!

Hi Sandie :)

Well some of the 'older' DISers will have heard this before, but I'll retell it anyway :)

We were on a toll road going to KSC........ DH pulls up at the toll, right next to the basket that you throw the coins in, queue of traffic right behind - throws the coins. Misses - says it doesn't matter, I've got loads of change. Throws the next coins, misses again. Wife starts to sink in her seat, boys in back of the car are horror struck. He tries once more and yes! Misses! So can you imagine? Has now run out of change. He has to get out of the car and crawl aorund for a couple of the coins he dropped

I'm seriously blushing just remembering it!

I was sick in public in Epcot.

I caught a bug on the plane on the way over. I went to see a Dr and did everything he said took the medicine he gave me and all was fine. Went to Epcot and took it easy. While queuing for HISTA, inside I might add, I felt a little queasy. Tried to get out but people were not letting me pass. Nic picked me and put me over a barrier but it was too late. I was sick, then again in the flowerbed. Children were pointing, parents videotaping, Nic dying of embarrasment. Disney were great, wanted to take me to their medical centre etc. I always feel really good after being sick so I even helped clean up my own mess.

People did reconise me all day as the girl who puked.

Not quite in the same league... but I think it has to be DH and DD giggling and snorting uncontrollably in The Enchanted Tiki Room. They are both "white knuckle" types and this was just too tame to be believed for them. Well, I liked it!!:p

When DH got stopped for speeding on the Interstate.

Getting stopped was bad enough, he got out and was talking to the nice policeman and I was rummaging in my bag trying to find his driving licence (we had been in the country for less than 24 hours) when I am aware of the policemans buddy out of my side window with a big gun on his belt. OMG, he thinks I'm looking for my gun:eek: (Not that I panic you understand)

THEN, during the conversation with the nice policeman, he says to DH that he's going to give him some southern hospitlity (meaning he's going to let him off) and DH says 'oh are you going to beat me up then! We see it all the time on British TV' :o

Luckily, they saw the funny side and absolutely cracked up, but
I wanted to DIE right there and then.

BTW They clocked him speeding from a helicopter, which we hadn't seen at all, so if anyone thinks they can get away with it. Take my advice and don't!!

my dd most embarrassing moment would be a little girls dream, i bribed her 10 dollars to join in the mk parade for my video and she danced with one of the male dancers of cinderella's court, and then at the end cinderella and prince charming joined in, her face was purple with embarrasment by this time, she was always trying to be a cool 10yr old at the time, anyway we now have it recorded for all time and i am planning to show it to her first boyfriend when she brings him home, lol. my endearing memory of this was cindy and pc trying to make conversation with this sullen little girl, they looked totally mystified!

!:smooth:

You mean you don't have any embarrassing stories Kaylee? ;) :)

Well I have one - it was when I was with my ex-hubby and we were staying at Quality Inn but we had to get up real real early the next morning to go on our Everglades/Naples tour. So we'd put in for a wake-up call for 5.30 and went to bed real early. The next thing I knew Steve woke me up in a panic we'd overslept and we had to be ready in 15 mins. I was so angry that the hotel hadn't woken us up (didn't have automated service back then) and so whilst Steve jumped in the shower I rang up reception to complain. I told them in a very harsh voice that we'd booked a wake up call and the girl said "yes ma'am you did and when it reaches 5.30 we'll call you but right now its 1.30 in the morning!" I have no idea how Steve had looked at the watch and thought we'd overslept but I think he might have dreamed it and then woken up and panic took over. Obviously I went into the bathroom and Steve's like "come on you need to get ready!" and then I had the pleasure of telling him the time - needless to say we went back to bed.

This one is at DH's expense... ;)

We'd rented a pontoon boat at VWL and there was a very attractive young female CM (like someone out of Baywatch  ) waiting on the dock to show us how to operate the boat before we set off.

DH went into full macho-mode and told her "yes, I'm familiar with all the controls - I have a boat back home" (the one 'back home' is not in the same league as WDW pontoon boats, BTW!). CM stood back and watched as DDs and I got our lifejackets on and DH started up the engine. Just as DH got the engine going full-throttle and was wondering why we weren't moving anywhere the CM shouted out "Sir, you're still tied to the dock!"

Yes, he was suitably embarrassed, but DDs and I nearly wet ourselves, laughing!:o

Well, it's not in the same league as some above, but mine was only last year when we were down in Marco Island one evening. We'd been out for a lovely dinner and after eating had gone for a nose around some rather upmarket little shops in a small mall. I was walking ahead of Darryl and Katie and couldn't understand why I couldn't get into the car - why Darryl hadn't unlocked it . . . until I heard shrieks of laughter from behind and realised I was standing there trying to get in to somebody elses car. This poor guy was standing next to his door looking terrified - he was not going to unock it while this mad Englishwoman was talking nonsense to him on the other side of his car:eek:    Darryl and Katie were nearly wetting themselves with laughter.

And if that wasn't bad enough, we then stopped the same night in Publix to get some supplies when I put my things in another man's trolley . . . . I was distracted by the cakes on show, that's my excuse:p :p.

I'll get Darryl to post his REALLY embarassing moment on a yacht out of St Pete's on a dolphin cruise . . . his swim shorts were quite baggy and when he sat down with his legs apart . . . . .
but as I say, that's another story

Here's a few from last years trip.

1, In st pete's we was all in the pool, and db's wife proceeds to get out of the pool,to stretch,as we all turn round to look at her, out pop's her little friend, imagine peoples faces! she went bright red! i was embarrassed for her.

2, Dp,in mc'donalds we ordered 2 meals, which in england you get 2drinks right? well in america you musnt,as dp must of asked the young lad, over 10+ times where the other cup was,he only gave us one large cup! dp,kept asking him and asking him!! i was embarrassed undetered,dp still winged on,then in the end had to give up as the lad then couldnt understand what dp was going on about!,afterwards we did laugh about it but it was embarrassing!

3, DD in the muppet show, she never shut up from the moment we got in,laughing her head off! it was very very cute! but i bet the others in there couldnt hear a thing as dd was rolling around on the floor in hysterics! she got the giggles, and we all know how loud toddlers can be!! as we walked out,an american family came over and said "she made the show for them!" "she was the star of the show!" which i thought was really sweet!

4, In walmart this was the best one, db and his dw saunter off looking at house things,as me and dp and dd walk past this ailse all we can hear is laughter, and this person getting up off the floor,we walk off, then i thought hang on we walked back,it was only db's dw,she had sat on this table and it had collapsed, all the security was laughing at her,and she had to get up off the floor, very red,and sore! i asked her what she was doing and she was seeing how strong it was!

5, me queing in this shop thinking its like asda, and other shops here, you pay when you get there etc,i didnt realise you checked your own things through then put you money in this machine, the security guy watched me for over 30mins queing at the wrong ailse! then came over, giggling under his breath and showed me how to do it! darn how thick i am! i did wonder what them people was doing lol...

Thats it i think! no doubt there'll be more!

Oh and 6, dp,getting to grips with the roads, and driving, and me getting to grips with those air horns on those wagons i heard a few of them LOL whislt we was there!!!

Great stories!

I think the funniest thing (and embarrassing for others) that I've seen is the pre-show warm up in the Shamu Stadium. To see people being irritable and then magically transform their features when they know they are on camera is so funny!

Don't have an embarrassing story of my own to share, thankfully. Just enjoying reading all the exploits of the Brits on holiday!!!LOL!!!

We were at the Prime Time Cafe, and I'd been at the beer and beans, if you catch my drift. My 6 year old daughter took great pleasure in telling our waitress who was responsible, fingers squeezing nose, pointing at me. I have never laughed so much. Schoolboy humour I guess.

Ooh embarrassing moments?
I remember being about 15 and fainting at (then Then) Discovery Island.
I was sooooo embarrassed, but think it was due to the heat coupled, with air pressure from flying.
I had to go to the Medical Centre to make sure i was okay. Turns out all the probs stemmed from a hearing infection i had!
