What's your favorite thanksgiving side dish? Recipe if you want to share!

We make ours different.

Mini marshmallows
Sour cream
Fruit cocktail
Mandarin oranges

Oh, I forgot about the the mini marshmallows! Those are in ours, too. I think MIL might use fruit cocktail, but I like my mom's better- I love the pineapple in it.

And we make ours even more different by using cream cheese and cool whip with fruit cocktail, crushed pineapple and then the mini marshmallows. Calls for nuts on top (but I leave them off...not a fan).

I also make an acini de pepe fruit salad (I think it's called frog eye salad). It has acini de pepe pasta with mandarin oranges, pineapple, cool whip, mini marshmallows blended with thickened fruit juices strained from the fruit an heated with sugar, eggs and flour (this and the pasta has to be mixed and refrigerated overnight and then add fruit, cool whip and marshmallows the next day). I LOVE this and cannot wait to have it tomorrow (and for several days after).

There was a fruit salad the my MIL used to make...it is pink. It has cherry pie filling, pineapple, sweetened condensed milk and cool whip.
 
Mashed potatoes that I only make twice a year at the holidays- made with whole milk and cream, loads of butter, salt, and cream cheese - whipped with a hand mixer until there is not a smidgen of a lump - very creamy, very rich, and very caloric. To heck with the turkey, give me these mashed potatoes.

Ditto! I make mine almost the same way, except I use sour cream instead of cream cheese. I call them "killer potatoes" because they are so bad for you, they'll kill ya. But what a way to go!
