What's your favorite romantic song?

:earsboy:

It may not be the greatest love song of all time, but it's pretty close: "God Only Knows" by the Beach Boys:

I may not always love you
But as long as there are stars above you
You never need to doubt it
I'll make you so sure about it

God only knows what I'd be without you

If you should ever leave me
Though life would still go one believe me
The world could show nothing to me
So what good would living do me?

God only knows what I'd be without you

If you should ever leave me
Well life would still go on believe me
The world could show nothing to me
So what good would living do me?

God only knows what I'd be without you

Just an absolute beautiful song. Paul McCartney once said it was the greatest song ever written.

"You're my first, my last, my everything" by Barry White

If you listen to the lyrics, it's really sweet and romantic. I still melt when I hear it!

I absolutely love that song. It reminds me so much of me and DH, we've known each other since we were kids and have been together all of our adult lives, so the lyrics to that song really describe our relationship.

You guys have come up with a GREAT list of saongs to choose from! WOW!!! I'll have to make a top 10 list! There is one artist that I am unfamiliar with though- Joshua Kadison. What can you tell me about him? I absolutely positive that I am out of the loop if I haven't heard of him! I guess that's what happens when you turn 40 several times! :)

Please keep them coming! Just more for me an DH to dance to at night!

My FAVORITE romantic song of Barry's is one that was never a hit. It's called The Best of Me - :lovestruc

THE BEST OF ME

No one will ever touch me more
And I only hope that in return
I might have saved the best of me for you

So many years gone
With love that was so wrong
I can’t forget the way it used to be
And how you changed the taste of love for me

You were my one more chance
I never thought I’d find
You were the one romance
I’ve always known in my mind
No one will ever touch me more
And I only hope that in return
I might have saved the best of me for you.

And we’ll have no ending
If we can hold on
I think I’ve come this far because of you
Could be no other love but ours will do

You were my one more chance
I never thought I’d find
You were the one romance
I’ve always know in my mind
No one will ever touch me more
And I only hope that in return
I might have saved the best of me for you.

You were my one more chance
I never thought I’d find
You were the one romance
I’ve always know in my mind
No one will ever touch me more
And I only hope that in return
No matter how much we have to learn
I saved the best of me for you
I saved the best of me for you

My DH and I love this song...

BEAUTIFUL IN MY EYES (Joshua Kadison)

You’re my peace of mind, in this crazy world
You’re everything I've tried to find
Your love is a pearl
You’re my Mona Lisa
You’re my rainbow skies
And my only prayer is that you realize
You'll always be beautiful in my eyes...

The world will turn
And the seasons will change
And all the lessons we will learn
Will be beautiful and strange
We'll have our fill of tears
Our share of sighs
My only prayer is that you realize
You'll always be beautiful in my eyes...

You will always be beautiful in my eyes
And the passing years will show
That you will always grow
Ever more beautiful in my eyes

And there are lines upon my face
From a lifetime of smiles
When the time comes to embrace
For one long last while
We can laugh about how time really flies
We won’t say goodbye
‘Cause true love never dies
You'll always be beautiful in my eyes...

You will always be beautiful in my eyes
And the passing is the show
That you will always grow
Ever more beautiful in my eyes

The passing years will show
That you will always grow
Ever more beautiful in my eyes...

My best friend used this song to dance their wedding waltz to last year.During dance rehersals she would cry throughout their lesson. :groom: :bride:

All Is Love by Marc Anthony (danced this at our wedding)

When you hold me like this
So many memories fill my eyes
The first time we kissed
The times we nearly said goodbye
But, still, here we are
Tested and tried and still true
And stronger than we ever knew

Chorus:
Love is all
The laughter and the tears that fall
The mundane and the magical
Love is all
All is love
The careless word, the healing touch
The getting and the giving of
All is love

There's a me you've always known
The me that's a stranger still
The you that feels like home
And the you that never will
But, still, here we lie
Tender and trusting and true
With everything that we've been through

(Repeat chorus)

All the glory
All the pain
All the passion
That turns to ashes
Only to rise again
(Repeat chorus)
