What's Your Favorite Line From A movie?

Rupert Everett singing I say A Little Prayer in My Best Friend's Wedding

"Don't worry, everyone will love you" Reese Witherspoon in Legally Blonde(to the dog)

When the buildings windows explode in Die Hard, the officer says, "This building's going to need a s**t load of screen doors."

I think I found this thread too late. My Princess Bride line is listed, so is my favorite scene from Indy 3.

If you've ever seen the Blues Brothers, when Dan Akyroyd and Joh Belushi are trying to get away from one of the police cars inthe middle of the night, he says, "Oh our Lady of Blessed Acceleration don't fail me now!" - that just cracks me up whenever I hear it.

I also think from Star Wars when Luke and Obi-Wan are looking down at Mos Eisley, Obi Wan says something like,"Mos Eisley Spaceport. You will never find a more retched hive of scum and villainy. We must be cautious."

Okay okay thought of another one....just watched the entire length of the Three Musketeers last weekend at my mom's. Had never seen like the last half. Oliver Platt on the ship with the oriental guy and the swords - funny! - my son rewound that scene 4 times and literally was rolling on the floor! Also at the last fight scene, Charlie Sheen's character is swordfighting with the bad guys and skewers someone and says, "Go with G-d." just in a serious tone of voice that just was funny.

Wow there are so many great lines!

From The Outlaw Josey Wells: Bury them boys?...Buzzards got to eat same as worms.

From Airplane:

Have you ever been in a Turkish Prison Joey?
Have you ever seen a grown man naked Joey?

From Office Space:
Do you ever get a case of the Mondays?
Or...I;m not going to work anymore. Are you going to quit? No. I'm just not going anymore.

When I see someone doing something nice, a line from Willy Wonka pops into my head: "So shines a good deed in a weary world".

Also I like to use this one when someone asks me something I don't want to answer: "I'm a trifle deaf in this ear, speak a little louder next time", and then walk away. :D

My DH and I say this from a movie with Daryl Hannah, (I can't remember the name of it)??? "Say what you mean Vic Kasey"

and in Pretty Woman when Julia R. friend makes fun of her for being "Cinda - **** in-rella. "
I just loved the way she said that

My fav quotes are from a Sundance Festival movie that I doubt many people on the DIS have seen. The movie is called The Tao of Steve. I know Barry has seen it but I doubt many others have. Sorry I can't pick one quote :) I have to pick just a few from this movie.

Well, that's Male Insanity Syndrome. Ya know, that is just you're with a woman and no matter how cool she is, you're always thinking "Maybe I could do a little better or I could trade up somehow.
Dex, The Tao of Steve

Doing stuff is overrated. Like Hitler. He did a lot. But don't we all wish he woulda just stayed home and gotten stoned?
Dex, The Tao of Steve

Here's a great one linner from Lilo and Stitch:

"Desserts!" (Lilo) The way she says it is so cute:D

from Moonstruck at the end of the movie around the kitchen table between Olympia Dukakis & Cher

Do you love him?

Yes!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Too bad.

Just about EVERY line in Moonstruck..... that movie cracks me up.

From My Fair Lady "I'm a good girl I am...waaaaaaaaa"

From Princess Bride.... "Farm Boy, fetch me that pitcher."
"As you wish"
"I do not think that word means what you
think it means"

The Little Mermaid "Teenagers, you give dem and inch- Dey swim all over you"

My fav is "Frankly my dear, I don't give a damn." Rhett Butler in Gone with the Wind

From The Searchers John Wayne to Ward Bond.

Well Reverend - That Tears It!

For some reason I use that line a lot.

denise

Blazing Saddles.........

"You use your tongue prettier than a $20 Wh***"

"Excuse me while I whip this out"

" Hey, where the white women at?"

"Don't know. Mongo only pawn in game of life"

"My mind is a-glow with whirling transient nodes of thought, careening through a cosmic vapor of invention. Taggart: "Ditto! "

'What in the wide wide world of sports is a-goin' on here?"

Marisa Tomei's character, Mona Lisa Vitto, in "My Cousin Vinny":
"My biological clock is ticking!"
life.gif

My favorite line of all time is from the Wizard of Oz. Dorothy tosses the bucket of water on the Wicked Witch of the West, who then begins to melt. As she is dying, the witch says, "How could a good little girl like you destroy my beautiful wickedness!"

Another great one from Raising Arizona is when Nic Cage steals one of the quints, hops in the car, and says to Ed: "I think we got us the best one".

I also like this conversation in "A Fish Called Wanda":

John Cleese: "Where did they go, Ken?"

Michael Palin: "The C-C-Ca"

Cleese: "Now take your time Ken"

Palin: "The C-C-C-Caaaaaa"

Cleese: "Okay, why don't you try to sing it?"

Palin: "The Caaaaaaaaaaaaa. The Caaaaaaa"

Cleese: (hand him paper) "Write it down!"

Palin: (writes it down)

Cleese: "The Cathcart Towers Hotel????!!!!!"

Palin: "Yes, the Cathcart Towers Hotel!"

ROF everytime!

a John Wayne movie [McClintock maybe?]
I'm not going to punch you......I'm not going to punch you
