I voted for Thanksgiving. I enjoy the lazy day, the good food, the football in the background, the guys snoozing on the couch afterwards.
Also, it's usually when I get to see my high school friends, because we all go to our hometown to have Thanksgiving with our parents, then on T-giving night we'll all get together at someone's house, play board games and drink beer.
AND I have this weird thing where I don't allow myself to watch Christmas movies or eat pumpkin pie until Thanksgiving. Kinda strange, I know. So later that night someone will probably pop in "Elf" or "National Lampoon's Christmas Vacation."
This year, my fiance and I are starting a tradition of our own. On Friday morning we are getting up really early and driving to the Circle Center, a big mall in Indianapolis. It's about 2.5 hours away. We'll shop all day, then we've got a nice room at a hotel that is connected to the mall. So, we'll get gussied up and have a nice dinner somewhere, enjoy the change of pace, and not have to worry about driving back that night...I can't wait!!
