What's your favorite, hidden gem resort restaurant?

It's the Yorkshire County Fish Shop! We love it too. On our trip last July we ate there during EMH and wanted more. We actually shared it. Looking forward to eating there for a snack and eating at the Rose and Crown. Love the fish and chips and you've got to try the Welsh Dragon drink! It's so refreshing after sitting in the July sun!

I have to chime in on the Yorkshire County Fish Shop. We love it! I dream about fish at EPCOT - the really funny thing is that since we love the Fish Shop, we tried Rose and Crown the last time we were at the world. DH and I both got the fish and steak, I assumed that the fish would be the same at both places - NOT TRUE - the Fish Shop beat Rose and Crown hands down!

No, not at all. It is a very casual pub type of atmosphere.

You could dress up is you wanted to. I do not think it would be too out of place.

But....I think Narcoosee's(located at the Grand Floridian) may fit the bill for what you are looking for.

Narcoosee's is very good as well.

Trails end Dinner buffet. The food is as good as-I believe the same as-hoop-dee-doo. It's a smaller buffet and it used to be a great value.

Ours is Trails End. We finally made it over there a few years back and have returned many times. The food and price are pretty good.

Now if we were at Dineyland I would ahve to say Carnation Cafe on Main Street. Gosh I could so go for an Oscar's Special right now.....

So excited to hear great reviews on Olivia's. We just had a daughter named Olivia and didn't know about this restaurant until about a month ago. We have booked dinner for our next trip and we're very excited.

Our DD8 is Olivia too:love:
She really wanted to eat here but I kept reading bad reviews about it,so I cancelled it:sad1: .
I have promised we will have breakfast there but I am now wishing I hadnt cancelled dinner!

Well, as you can see by my username I have a DGD named Olivia(3). My DH and I are looking forward to trying Olivia's for our upcoming trip in Sept.

I would have to say the Pepper market at CSR and Big River grill & Brewery on the Boardwalk.

:thumbsup2 We couldn't agree with you more about the Yorkshire County Fish Shop(counter restaurant)! We can't wait to go back and have some of that yummy fish and a Bass Ale. Also for Disney, it was a reasonably priced meal ($7.99 for two pieces of fish and french fries). Our kids loved it too! If you follow the path next to the building, it leads to the water. One night, we sat down at a table and chairs overlooking the lake. We had a wonderful "quiet" time enjoying our meal back there.

Tack up another vote for Trail's End at the Fort Wilderness Resort & Campground. Pain in the butt to get to but a fabulous restaurant.

We are staying at the Wilderness Lodge our next WDW trip. How hard is Trail's End to get to from there? We may want to try it. I've heard there are trails from WL to FW. But, we have three small children. Is it a "hike" that we should drive our car over there or is it a leisurely walk?

The walk is really nice. May want to bring the stroller if the kids are really small. OR the boat. The boat that goes to the MK stops at FW. I believe it goes MK, FW, WL, MK...... and so on. So you can walk over and take the boat back.

Don't drive! Parking is a big problem. Don't think they will let you. If you can't walk, take a bus that is going to FW before heading to a park. All the buses are linked down there. I actually remember seeing a bus that to FW. I don't know if that is still running. Try the walk!

Wolf Gang pucks at DTD. I have been eating there for at least 8 years. It is a must on our list of places to eat. :cool1:

My husband says I got the boat route backwards. HE says it goes MK, WL, FW, MK.... So you would be taking the boat there and walking back. Sorry, I really thought it was the other way. We have done it twice. But I do have the "mommy stupids".

OR you can take it both ways but it would take a bit longer on the way back.

With little ones opt for the boat....when the boat comes from the MK it stops at WL and then heads to FW - reverses order when it's heading to MK. Nice restaurant for eating with little children & a playground is right next door - big front porch - quite nice. Truly a hidden gem!:wizard:

Our other vote is for Boatright's at POR - we did dinner there last time, really enjoyed it - kids enjoyed it. It may not be a bad choice for "dressing up" with not quite so dressed up food - dressing up not required but it wouldn't look out of place. Or perhaps Yachtsman's Steakhouse.

It is VERY easy from WL. Just take the small boat (CR/WL/FW one). It's a very short walk from the dock. When you're done will dinner, wonder back and look at the animals.

The Yacht Club Galley for breakfast or lunch.

:thumbsup2 I agree-by far the best!

Though you will see a lot of mentions about the characters. 1900PF has one of the best buffets on site. Almost as good as Boma

:goodvibes Thank you for all the tips on getting to Fort Wilderness from the Wilderness Lodge. We'll take the boat on its way back from MK to FW. Good tip to know!
Trail's End. . . Here we come!:cool1:
UPDATE: Made our ADR today for Trail's End.

Is the Welsh Dragon an adult beverage?
And can someone describe it?

Thanks
