Besides all the wonderful information that can be found on the DIS :thumbsup2 I was wondering what is your favorite published guide book? I've used Birnbaum's in the past but it's time to purchase an updated one.

I love the Unofficial Guide. It is very informative and updates are regularly posted online.

I have Birnbaums, UG, and Passporter. I have also checked out from the Library every other one I can find. By far, my favorite is the UG!

In terms of online information, you can't beat TGM! Use the banner on this page to save $3. It is an awesome site.

Of course, I couldn't live without the DIS . . . :surfweb:

I use all different ones for different reasons. Passporter is great at having restaurant hours when trying to decided a meal schedule. UG is great in that they tell you how crowded a certain day will be and what parks to avoid. If you're going on a romantic trip without kids, I love WDW for Couples. It's a few years old, but it talks about how romantic WDW can be!

I have the Birnbaum's Official Guide, the Unofficial Guide, the Passporter and WDW for your Special Needs. I love all of them but I like the Birnbaum the best because of the color pictures.

I have Passporter, can barely wait for my 2007 UG. I take Passporter with me, because I use to do my planning and write everything down in it. I read UG to keep up with everything, and I will occassionally by Birnbaum's when I want the warm-gooey feeling about WDW. But my favorite..well, it's a toss up between Passporter and UG. :thumbsup2

I have two....

The Unofficial Guide is an absolute MUST, because they tell it like it is. Anything you could possibly want to know about attractions, best days to visit, resorts, restaurants (good and bad) are in the Unofficial Guide. I read it cover-to-cover twice before my trip last month.

And then I like Birnbaum's, because it has that Disney magic all over and through it. I love it for the descriptions.

I read a description about an attraction or restaurant in Birnbaum's...And then I turn to Unofficial to see what they think. hehe

Another vote for the Unofficial Guide. The 2007 one is due out August 21st Kim

I always liked the Unofficial Guide. Last year I bought Passporter and I REALLY liked that one!! :thumbsup2

Unofficial guide and Walt Disney World for Couples by Rick and Gayle Perlmutter. I love the 2nd one for the romance factor.

If I were buying just one, it'd be the Unofficial Guide. But, I really like the cute pictures in the Disney one (Birnbaum's), too. So, I get both. :)

Passporter is OK, but not nearly as good as the Unofficial Guide!

I've got the Unofficial Guide and the Passporter. I love them both.

I'm really looking forward to using the pocket pages in Passporter for writing things down (so I can remember all the little details later for my scrapbooking and trip report).

I can't imagine a trip to WDW without my Passporter!!! It keeps me soooooo organized, and it's just so handy. Great, in-depth info on everything, ratings, reviews, full color fold-out maps, etc. And then there's the pockets!! One for your journey, one for each day of your trip, extra ones to customize... it keeps everything in one compact place.

And don't forget the updates! That's an awesome feature of the Passporter. They are constantly updating things at the website, to keep up with the constant changes at WDW. They are formatted so that you can print them out and put them right into your Passporter.

I got the deluxe ring-binder version when the Passporter first came out, and now for each trip I just order the updated "guts" and new pockets. It's sitting right here next to me as I type this -- it's my best friend before and during a WDW trip. :goodvibes

I think the UOG is the best for lots of information.

Birnbaum's has nice pictures which isn't exciting for me, but dd loves to look at it with me (her first trip is next week).

I don't have the Passporter. It looks cool for keeping things organized, but I just couldn't bring myself to spend even more money on a book, just for that feature.

Where do most of you purchase your guides? I bought the Official guide at Barnes and Noble but was looking for a cheaper place to buy a different one....I'm thinking of getting the Passporter but I don't want to pay an arm and a leg...

How much is UG and where do you get it?? I have Birmbaumsfor 2006 and love it I also got the Kids Official one and Kids loved it>
