Oh, ha The Hiding Place
Definitely! I highly recommend it. It's very inspiring and, if you're anything like meEeyoreFan1 said:Oh, ha The Hiding Place
, will have you in tears more than once
... but if I remember correctly, more often than not, it's the good kind of tears
.
I think I have read all the boxcar series!AllyGirlie said:My favorites are:
Keeping the Moon - Sarah Dessen Probably my favorite book, I've read it like 3 times and I want to read it again, but I lost the dang book..Grr..
A Great and Terrible Beauty - Libba Bray Pretty much tied with Keeping the Moon. I read it not too long ago and I couldn't put it down..403 pages, 2 days..
Rebel Angels - Libba Bray The sequel to A Great and Terrible Beauty, finished it in 3 days..not as good as the first book in my opinion but I still loved it.. (I can't wait for the 3rd book to come out..)
The Great Gatsby - F. Scott Fitzgerald Read it in school and decided to keep it
The Wessex Papers - Daniel Parker Long and kind of complicated, but I still liked it. Its about a conspiracy at a boarding school in CT *cough*Kristy*cough*
Number the Stars - Lois Lowry I can't remember the last time I read it, but it's still one of my favorites
The Body - Stephen King The book that inspired the movie Stand By Me..need I say more?
The Awakening - Kate Chopin I just love it..
The Boxcar Children books Yea, I'm a dork..

Here's the top ones that come to my mind:
-Harry Potter 4
-A Wrinkle in Time
-The High King (last of the Prydain Chronicles)
-Uncle Tom's Cabin...simply excellent
-The Hiding Place...the best nonfiction book I've ever read. The author, Corrie ten Boom, tells about her experience during the Nazi-era...she was part of a Christian family who helped hide Jews and ended up in a concentration camp herself.
-Anne of Green Gables and Anne of the Island

The Catcher In The Rye!!!! (omg I love this book too much rofl)
The Lord of The Flies
The Shinning
Harry Potter series
The Lord Of The Rings Trilogy
Tuesdays With Morrie
Flowers For Algernon
The Awakening
Some authors and poets I enjoy reading are:
Stephen King
Jane Austin
J.D. Salinger
Edgar Allan Poe
Henry David Thoreau
Walt Whitman
Ralph Waldo Emerson
Patricia Cornwell
William Shakespeare (some of my favorite pieces of literature are written by him lol)
Kate Chopin
I almost put down Number the Starts on my favorites list...it is really good! Lois Lowry is a really good author.AllyGirlie said:My favorites are:
