What's your Favorite Appetizer?

When you go out to eat, what's your appetizer preference?

I'm a cheese plate fanatic. And if they offer a charcuterie board, I'll get that too.
DH is nuts about charcuterie; you could serve baloney and canned tuna on a wooden board with chutney and grainy mustard and he'd be all like: :cloud9: LOL.

For me it depends on what I'm having as an entree. I like something a little "surf-y" with steak; scampi or escargot or maybe a crab cake. I prefer salad with pasta and something creamy like stuffed mushrooms or artichoke dip go well with chicken. It also depends on the type of cuisine. With Chinese, for example, I'm a deep-fried spring roll person and with Greek I'll have stuffed grape leaves.
 
I'm a seafood lover but like it pretty plain and simple so the freshness of the seafood comes through. Something like a shrimp cocktail or cerviche is what I'd go for.

I'm not a meat or cheese fan so anything with those I'd pass on.
 
The only time we ever order appetizers is spring rolls at our favorite Thai place. I do love spring rolls ( fried,) lumpia, and egg rolls. Dumplings too, oh and Chinese bbq pork dipped in hot mustard - I guess you could say pretty much any Asian style appetizer!
 

Diver scallops, octopus, tuna, and right now I'm in big chicken liver pate spell - a place close to me does it with peach perserves...so good.

I eat a lot of meals of 2 appetizers and eat out a lot...Had that pate like an hour ago.


I thought of being the high culture you are, you would remember great poetry when yiu see it :p

I love appetizers! Currently, I"m a big fan of fried brussel sprouts. I also love steamed dumplings. Deviled eggs are also a favorite :)
 
I'm not as high falooting as some folks on this thread. I like mozza sticks or potato skins. Recently I tried spinach dip and it might be my new favourite.

Me too. I like a soup or salad at a restaurant. At home I'll eat chips & dip. Yum!
 
I've only seen deviled eggs as an appetizer on a menu at the NBC Grill at City Walk at Universal. They were pretty good.

No favorite appetizer; I like many. Sometimes I'll just get soup or salad and an appetizer rather than an entree.

I'm not high falooting, but I'm not at home whipping up chicken liver pate or grilling octopus, ya know?
 
Neptune Mushrooms(stuffed with crab/shrimp) frm the Keg.

Also potato Skins or artichoke dip.

I rarely get appetizers though.
