Thank you sooooo much! It is a special trip with my parents also. I could got the deal for them as well. They have not been since 1976. We were supposed to go in '07 with them and they had to cancel two weeks before for an unexpected health emergency. I have been saving and am surprising them with the upgrade to CL. They have no idea. They have done so much for us, I want to help make a vacation for them wonderful. I am praying that all goes well and we can get them there.:lovestruc

Haven't booked it but probably will very soon. I'm afraid there will be a better deal but somehow I deep down know that's silly. Also I would rather book for late Nov/Dec. I hate that the Peoplemover and Space Mountain will be down :upsidedow . Also, the hot muggy weather isn't something I'm looking forward to!

Ugh! decisions decisions (but at least they're WDW decisions :goodvibes !

i know the peoplemover is one of our favorites. i wished they would build it around MK. october will not be so bad as far as the heat goes. we go every sept. and it is hot but we can deal with it when we're getting all that free food!!

11/14/2009 to 11/21/2009
Caribbean Beach
Standard View
2 Adults 2 Children
Total Price: $803.25 (tax included)

This was just quoted to me today - Is this a good price??? This is for the room only with a military discount. I am still searching for the best deals on tickets and DH has not been active military for a few years. He is retired and it looks like the current deal you had to have been active duty within the last year or so. Any help would be appreciated!!

If you husband is actually retired, then you qualify for current military deal.
I went to the Disney site and entered your info, the price quoted is:
$1339.00 Take that number and multiply it by .60 and you get 803.40.

My answer is close enough, of course, I'd go with their answer. You were quoted the military 40% off offer price. You should also qualify for the ticket offer. (It's a separate deal, not a package.) Have a wonderful vacation!

Thanks!! Yes - I figured this was the 40% quote. What is confusing me is the wording for the tickets -- I should have my husband look at it. It says "Complimentary "Disney’s Armed Forces Salute" tickets may be obtained only by active or retired U.S. military personnel, including activated members of the National Guard or Reservists (with orders showing active status after Jan. 1, 2008) and active or retired members of the United States Coast Guard. Spouses are not eligible.

It's the 'activated' word that is getting me. Would they had to have been on active duty during that time? He was already retired by then. I guess I should have him call someone to clarify.

Retired military absolutely qualify. Active are eligible, Retired are eligible , and then activated member of the National Guard or Reservists are also eligible.
The word activated applies to the Nat'l Guard or Reservists, only.
