Whats YOUR creed?

Oh my, MUST I have a creed?

I guess it depends on the situation..........often I think of songs to tell myself what I need to do........for instance, I have two for pulling into the school parking lot........one is "just keep swimming, swimming, swimming" (I use that one at other times too) and one (if I had a bad day the day before) "I get knocked down, but I get up again, you ain't never gonna keep me down".

When I am trying to decide to let my kids do something, I use "Give them wings and let them fly".

When I am worried about my son, I use "Just train 'em the best you can and then cross your fingers and hold on".

I do also use "There but for the Grace of God" especially if one of my sons says something unthoughtful about someone..........

I don't have a one size fits all.

our family motto:

It is what it is.

old family motto, when I was growing up:

%^&# happens.

I have this creed:

"Always stay in touch with your inner child"! :goodvibes

(I may grow up but I refuse to act my age! :teeth: )

My husband bought me a plaque-thing that says, "Enjoy Yourself: It's Later Than You Think." He didn't know it was a song. :)

I worried a little too much when I was younger. So, I keep the "Enjoy yourself" thing in mind.

DH also made me fall in love with him by always -no matter WHAT! - saying, "It'll be fine." That's something else I try to remember and say a lot..."It'll be fine." (It usually will!)

:)

"Dont judge someone until you walk a mile in their shoes, that way when you judge them, you are a mile away and you have their shoes"

"change the world every day"

"Life is Good" (thats what my hat says!)

I live by what's in my signature.

When you wish upon a star - your dreams definitly do come true!!!

I have had many rough moments in my life, and this saying always kept me on track. I actually told my DH that when I die, I want When you Wish Upon A Star played at my wake/funeral because this is my favorite song, and I believe it has worked for me many many times.

I actually have 2 believe it or not

The other one is (stemming from my first post)

Always let your conscience by your guide

Said by our good friend Jiminy Cricket

I even have him dangling from my rear-view mirror to remind me of this everyday!!

"Less Talk, More Rock."

That's another good one. :)

Its actually an emily dickenson poem

If I can stop one heart from breaking,
I shall not live in vain;
If I can ease one life the aching,
or cool one pain,
Or help one fainting robin,
Unto his nest again,
I shall not live in vain.

hm. Pretty good for not having read that in years.

It IS all about me!!

Also......

I took the road less traveled by.....and that has made all the difference.
-Robert Frost

Fool me once, shame on you. Fool me twice, shame on me. It has saved me from a lot of heartbreak.

Also: You DO have a choice. I apply it not only to myself, but to others.

this is SO true:

Worrying does not empty tomorrow of its troubles,
it empties today of its strength!
