What's Your Claim(s) to Fame?

Hmmm....let me think. I'm not sure I have any, how sad is that? :confused3

Well my Daddy grew up racing on the dirt tracks around home and was getting started when Dale Earnhardt Sr. was, so we've known him our whole life. I mean, we've known Dale Sr., of course we've known our daddy..lol
I just love Ms.Martha, she is just the sweetest lady.

I worked in Mooresville NC for 10 years which is called Race City USA, and I got to meet and befriend more drivers, teams, mechanics and wanna be's then I can even remember. One of the rudest people I'd have to say was Benny Parsons, but maybe he's mellowed out some.

I recently wrote an article for my newspaper back home about living here in CA and what I miss from home, does that count?

In the 80's I went to a wrestling match and actually touched the right arm of Magnum T.A...boy did I ever have the hots for that guy back then...

The woman who cleans where my Daddy works is lifelong friends with the grandpa of Kelly Pickler from American Idol, though he only told me that yesterday the stinker.

I once snuck into a Def Leppard concert after it had started. Though I'm not sure it was considered sneaking in, there were 2 women sitting there in chairs and I just walked right up and opened the door and walked on in, they never said a word....lol

Thats all the tame stuff that I can mention in mixed company...way more scandalous things, but we wont talk about those right now... :stir: :rolleyes1

Here goes and it's pitiful:

I saw Cary Grant getting out of a limo in Beverly Hills - obviously years ago!

On the same night - I saw a very young Molly Ringwald in Annie from 5th row center seats.

A friend of mine from England lived down the street from Rod Stewart when he was starting out.

I made tea for Peggy Seeger - folk singer and sister of Pete Seeger.

And finally, bell hooks, author and activist, spoke at a conference I helped organize. I missed the presentation as I was working but afterwards I had a chance to sit and talk to her. She didn't want to talk about her work, she wanted to talk about sex!

That's it.

Ready for some patheticness (is that a word? I make up my own words, but somehow they always make sense!):

I met Buzz Aldrin (sp?) at Planet Hollywood in Orlando when he came out with his book.

I met Patrik Elias of the New Jersey Devils when he was not playing because he had Hepatitis and was sitting in the stands and he autographed my ticket.

My parents met Steven Tyler of Aerosmith. Our neighbors down the street who I babysit for are good friends with Steven Tyler because the father grew up with him.

My father met Linda Blair from "The Exorsist" at a mixer (ha ha how old does that sound, sorry!) at Manhattan College. He said she wasn't very nice.

My father sat next to comedian George Carlin on a plane ride to California and talked to him for a while.

I met Walt Frasier from the Knicks, Alan Houston when he was on the Knicks, and some other guy but I don't remember his name.

I met one of the Sherman Brothers because he was on the Mexican Riviera cruise last summer and I took a picture with him.

Ok, so maybe not that pathetic, but I wanna meet or be friends with someone good!

I met Jenny McCarthy at a book signing, and I went to college with her younger sister.

But the best - DH met Johnny Depp in California at a movie premier!! DH was dressed at Jack Sparrow, too
I could have met Johnny Depp, too, but I was a wussy and after hours and hours of waiting around, I left and waited for DH in the car. I just thought there was no way we were going to get to meet him. Guess I was wrong. AAH!!

Johnny Depp- I am so jealous!!

I did meet Laura Bush's press secretary if that counts as anything. And I saw the president of Argentina.

And I went to a museum here in Chicago 3 days ago and after I found out that Michael J. Fox was there that same day. Didn't see him- I was so mad!

My sister remind me.. that
Jeff Gordon's parents live about 15 minutes from my home now... He graduated from our rival high school!!!

Tony Stewart did some of his midget racing in my hometown..and was known as the Rushville Rocket..as well as the Columbus Comet.. his hometown is Columbus,IN...

And my sister told me the little girl that plays Zenon (Disney channel) is from Greensburg, IN...
