I'm not sure if this is the right place to post this so if you need to move it go ahead.

This question was given to me by my college professor. I was so happy when I saw the question. He must be a disney lover too. I want to know what others think as well.

Select one Disney movie of your choice and describe the Disney movie's impact upon your life.

I'd have to think about that but what a great question. What is the class? There are so many Disney movies that I love. Lots of the old classics are great and that would probably be what he would expect. However, right now, I really, really, love Enchanted. I might have to write about that. Or, Up....but that is soooooo sad. Then again, maybe one of the classics where good wins over evil. I will enjoy reading the responses to this. Have fun writing your paper. I hope you do well.

The class is ENG. I have to write 1,000 words. Which will go by really fast. I love belle. She was the frist princess I wanted to be, But as a parent i've grown to love all the princesses. My DD just loves it when mommy plays the Evil Queen and she is Snow White!

I had a British cocker spaniel growing up and she loved spaghetti and so when i was a kid it was our thing me and the dog to watch lady and the tramp and eat spaghetti I can't say how many times I've seen that movie lol its uncountable at this point. But the nice thing is when I see it I have the best memories of my dog. Its not even watching the movie whenever I see lady I see my dog she looked just like her. =)

What a cool professor!:goodvibes

Peter Pan has influenced me. It is my favorite Disney movie and it makes me feel very nostalgic when I watch it, even though I never started enjoying it until I was an adult. I think it speaks to every one of us that considers ourselves "kids at heart".

The line that opens it, "All of this has happened before, and it will all happen again" also has influenced me. It refers to the concept of eternal return, and while I know it's not an original Disney concept, Disney is where I first learned about it. Sometimes when I am dealing with a tough or stresful situation I will write this line down and go over it. It helps me realize that anything I must face has already happened before to someone else, and it will surely happen again to someone in the future. If others find ways to overcome the problem then I will too!

I have two dds (8,5) and like the movie w/ Giselle. Dad points out how the princess does not have to wait for a man to come and save her at the end. Yes, overprotective dad starts early.

Mulan - a girl can do anything a boy can do! And sometimes girls do it better!

I love all the movies where it shows the girl as an independent thinker not relying on the boys. I love that the girls are shown in a very positive way - strong, intelligent, free-spirits, adventurous, couragous, etc. Mulan is all of those things - and she is not a princess. She takes her fathers place to save him - she goes to war to save her family and finds herself in the process. This is the film that means the most to me.

I love your prof!! For once, a fun writing assignment!

I'd have to give this a lot of thought, but right now I'm taken by the message in UP. I love the concept of living life to the fullest and having no regrets. That movie really touched me.

Good luck on your assignment!

I'm not sure any single Disney movie has affected me enough to warrant an essay. I love Disney movies, but I can't think of any particular story that has actually impacted my life.

Anyone else. I'm starting to write my paper and i still can't pick ONE movie. I wish i could just List the movies and why.

Cinderella

My Parents Devoiced when I was three and my father re-married shortly after. Cinderella the movie was never allowed in my father’s home while I was young. I was only allowed to watch it at my mother’s house. My step-mother thought Cinderella was an ungrateful child and should never have disobeyed her step-mother.:scared: As I grew up I began to hate Cinderella and how it reminded me of my childhood.

When my daughter was born I wanted to share some of those happy Disney moments with her. Cinderella had just been re-released on DVD. I bought it for her, in hopes that it would not bring up old memories. After seeing how her eyes light up when the fairy-godmother changed Cinderella’s dress, Cinderella now and forever has new meaning for me. Cinderella is my daughter’s favorite movie and gets replayed at least 3 times a week.:rolleyes1 I now see Cinderella through my daughter’s eyes. How having dreams is a good thing, and always believing even if it seems impossible. I also like the message it teaches my daughter. It shows how even if you have a ride, dress, and even the right shoes that you still have to make you own dreams come true by taking the first step into the ballroom.

Wow - I feel so happy & sad for you. Sad about the negativity in your childhood. And "happy" just isn't a happy enough word for how you came around now and see it thru your daughter's eyes. It's amazing and something I probably would've shrugged off a few months ago before I was a mom. Gotta love that Disney magic! And that last sentence - I love it and I plan to quote you on it!

Oh wow, that's a tough one!

I really really love The Fox and The Hound... I remember watching it as a little girl and thinking that it was so unfair. Here are two little creatures that find eachother, and they become the best of friends, but the world just can't accept it! But then they somehow are able to keep that friendship alive and even put themselves on the line for eachother, wow it's such a good lesson for kids (and grownups too)!

We just bought it on DVD for my four year old a few months ago, and she cried the first time she watched it! I just love its message, and I think that no matter how much the world changes it will always be relevant!

Great pic and story! :goodvibes

I love many Disney movies (Sleeping Beauty is one of my favorite movies of all time), but I'm not sure if any of them have made an impact on my life... not yet anyway. My first baby (girl) just turned 1 and I can't wait to watch Sleeping Beauty with her (well, we already have, but I mean when she gets older and understands it more :)).

Then again, maybe 101 Dalmatians (see pic to the left!)...

I love your dog! I always wanted a dalmatian. The only problem is i'm only 5'2 and a bigger dogs tend to walk me, in stead of me walking them.

Thanks! He's my best buddy. :)

They're not TOO big but they're not small either. Also, the females tend to be smaller than the males, so if you ever decided to get one you could look into getting a girl.

They do need to be walked a lot. They have LOTS of energy!

Sorry for the thread derail. :goodvibes

Wow..that is pretty cool. This movie is not my FAVORITE movie but says the most to me. Summer Magic, with Haley Mills is the one that I would have to write about. It is such a great story about family and making it through huge life changes and seeing people for who they really are. Love it!!
