You might want to read up a little bit on the complete story about "Mother Theresa" (Teresa) before using her as an exemplar... not quite the angel the media played her up to be. More like a money making machine for the Catholic Church. Hundreds of million$ in donations, very very little spent on medicines to relieve pain.

Not sure what your "it" is referring to, but if you are talking about the article... correct, it couldn't be a "veiled attack"... because it is backed up by testimonies and video evidence. Those are pretty much mostly "fan" sites by people who never met her, who have never read anything other than the rosy fables and stories oft-repeated by the Church , and whoi have never even seen what her "home for dying destitutes" looks like. That, and and Catholic church sites continuing their publicity machine.

You'll notice most of the sites use vague generalizations like "caring for the poor." If one bothers to learn from testimonials and other evidence what that "caring" entailed... the picture of her becomes much more that of a person serving mainly her religious sect rather than the poor,and she can be seen as morally ambiguous at best... unless one thinks letting destitute people die in pain rather than purchasing easily affordable morphine for them is a "good" deed.

We do love god but I also fear him in the same way my children love me,trust me, and ahve a great relationship with me but they also fear me. The word fear in the Bible is actually translated reverence or respect.

Personally, to me it comes down to whether she and her order really did and do let destitute people dying in abject pain do so with nothing more than an aspirin. It seems from my research that this is so, unfortunately.

I really think it depends on how you look at her..I believe she had good intentions..However,her refusal to allow birth control to be used caused thousand of babies to be born into poverty and starvation...To some she is a hero,a saint..To others,well..She's just not

Their accounts are of her "loving" or "caring for" a sick destitute person, etc. Find out all that that encompassed (or didn't encompass, e.g. suitable painkillers for those dying in agony) and your view may change.

Yasser Arafat and Shimon Peres won Nobel Peace prizes also. Does that nullify their other, not-so-peaceful actions?
