What's with the Jesus skywriting?

The ones that are Christian and being snarky, I'm just getting offended by. Not sure why, but the sarcasm that DRIPS from those posts are making me red with frustration and anger.

I'm probably "guilty as charged" of being one of the sarcastic Christians :guilty: . Sometimes I respond to sarcasm with sarcasm. There is just a user or two that I find myself using that particular rhetorical tactic with. Then again, sometimes its just me being silly. I apologize if I have offended.

ETA: The medium of the internet can be so frustrating for us all. I know I for one don't take a lot of things anywhere near as seriously as some others think I do. I wish y'all could see me grin when I type sometimes.

I have a right to voice my beliefs, just as others do.

Sure you have your right to voice your beliefs. However others have a right to tell you they don't want to hear it. You should respect that instead of trying to cram it down our throats.

I think it's amusing to me that you are witnessing, you know you are witnessing, and yet you claim you do not claiming freedom of speech and saying that you are just stating your beliefs to everyone. Your beliefs have been stated, and stated for several pages. Why do you feel the need to continue to reiterate it? Your "I'm just stating my beliefs" is nothing but an excuse for your witnessing and I find it to be grossly disrespectful to the people who HAVE stated it's offensive to them.

My whole life is always a witness for my God. That is what I live for. Sometimes it is not a very good one, sometimes it is. Why do you feel the need to oppose it? I have no excuse for sharing my love for God. I am not ashamed of Him and this is who I am. Jesus is a controversial subject as I said in my first post on this subject. After all we are talking about the Jesus skywriter, how do you not talk about Jesus? Why am I being disrespectful and you that oppose are not? I am a Christian. I love Jesus and all He died for.

***DISCLAIMER: THIS IS NOT MY OWN PERSONAL BELIEF... DO NOT TAKE OFFENSE AND CLAIM I THINK THIS WAY!***

Read the disclaimer above first!

Ok, I have been following along with this thread since I do a lot of reading and studying of world religions and I just have to say that some of the more... fanatical... posters are the reason that Christianity is, at times, viewed as a form of cult that is trying to fold in the rest of the world, consuming other religions into the fold.

You may love your God, you may love Jesus, but perhaps some people should take a deep breath and step back and see the impression they are leaving with non-Christians. Fanaticism, in any religion, is truly unbecoming.

***DISCLAIMER: I DO NOT THINK CHRISTIANITY IS A CULT! IF YOU INSIST ON SAYING I DO, BE AWARE YOU WILL LOOK SILLY! ***

No one is making you read this.

Doesn't explain this comment.

Lorelai, there is a small pack here that smelled fresh meat when you posted. Be strong.

Once again you can't take ownership for what you post without blaming other people.

It's also always interesting when people cheer on the Chrsitans that are being sarcastic and snarky and then go on about how people are being sarcastic and snarky. Do they think people don't notice?

My GOD your entire post drips of "I'm better than you" and that's the attitude that's being carried througout the entire thread from you. And I'm Christian, and I feel it radiating from your posts. You can't talk about a skywriter writing these messages without talking about religion but why do you feel the need to continue this holier than thou attitude? Whether you like it or not, you DO have it and I'm sure you probably reconigize that you have it and are ignoring that fact. THAT is what makes your witnessing so offensive. Orljustin said it best.
the impression that this type of person feels your life sucks and you are incomplete, and how could you go on, and how they must now work to make sure you know that, while the rest of us just say "Hey, whatever - think what you want, just don't involve me in it".

Joy,As always you are a shining example of what a Christian is meant to be..People could learn from you.

How are our beliefs being cramed down your throat? We are not forcing you to read them. You can skip our posts, put us on ignore. You came to this thread and chose to post on it knowing people would be talking about Jesus.Or are you saying that only people who dont believe in Jesus are aloud to post.We are not going to hide what we believe in so we dont offend you, just like all of you are not hiding what you believe or dont believe in.If you dont want to hear about Jesus thats your choice just like its our choice to talk about Him.

Oh Jenny,

I am not a shining example. I had a snarky pm exchange with one poster in particular a few months ago (but I think Cool Beans has forgiven me! ).

I give Zip credit for apologizing. That's hard to do sometimes.

Ok folks, I gotta tell y'all somethin'. (Joyce, sorry I have to use your post as the example). Folks, this post is what I live with EVERYDAY in my community. I'm tellin' y'all this coz it might explain why somedays I'm a li'l quick to go NUTS over someone's post. Just wanted y'all to know that basically I'm easy goin' and laid back, heck, aging taught me that, but I live in a very small community that Joyce's post is the main think of most of the folks where I live. It's so sad that these folks can't broaden their minds and read another book.

Edit to add: Joyce, I just noticed you're in Texas, I shoulda known :lmao:

Hey, hop on over to the "Would This Statement Offend You" thread. There are a bunch of people over there not amused by somebody putting:

"Thank God I'm An Atheist"

in their siggy.

Statements like: Tacky, dumb, ignorant, etc are being thrown around.

Sounds like people are not quite so "tolerant" when the shoe is on the other foot and something anti-christian is being adverstised.

The irony is classic! :lmao:

What I say is from my heart, how you perceive it is your own doing. I posted before that we are all on the same plain when God looks at us. No one is better than another. Since you are a Christian, you know how much God cares about you. Some may not know that. I AM N0T BETTER THAN ANYONE! I have not posted otherwise. I am glad you feel something radiating from my posts, but believe me, it is not my attitude you feel! I am not important!

Trust me, I know what I feel is radiating from your posts, and it is most definately an arrogant attitude.

Not sure how I am to respond, but I just wanted to let you know I noticed. (disclaimer: not intended to be sarcastic)

Right back at ya! Why can't you broaden your mind? Why am I the narrow minded one and most in your community!??? You have the answers?? I don't have them all, and I will not attack who you are. All I am telling you is about someone I love. Tell me about someone you love!

Umm, yes you do.

The mere fact that you keep telling people that you are praying for them to change, and that you are SURE your prayers will work over time, and that the prayed for will change,

says that not only do you think your beliefs are better than theirs, but that you are better than they are because you want them to be like you. As if being themselves is not worthy - they HAVE to change to be like you, so you will pray for that change.
