What's with the cow?

I heard that a lot on my WDW trip last week. Cast members, DISers, and guests wanted to know about the little cow I was toting around.

Her name is Sweet Bessie Bovine and, as promised, here's a thread about her.

As many of you know, I'm a member of a sorority that raises money for charities and does a lot of volunteering. Another great thing we do is offer scholarships to college students with disabilities. That's how I became aware of Sigma Beta, as I was once a recipient.

Our pet name for our scholarship fund is the Dime Fund. We look for fun ways to collect and save dimes. At our recent convention in Fort Wayne, the Dime Fund inherited a little mascot named Sweet Bessie Bovine. Everyone loved her and wanted to take her home, so she was auctioned off to a member and has taken on a life of her own. Our little cash cow is embarking on adventures, making new friends and promoting the Dime Fund. All has been documented on her website. She just got back from WDW, where she attracted a lot of attention.

After this year is through, Bessie will be auctioned off again to benefit the Dime Fund. Until then, we are having a great time with our little cash cow!

That is soooooooooooooooo cute! I have a similarly-traveling mascot (no charity fund raising, just for fun) who just began his travels in Sept. I didn't even think to get photos of his first flight -- that passport and photo w/the pilot are great! (I might have to copy that idea.)

We were very surprised by that gesture. They offered and we pounced on it.... Her Delta passport is now full of stamps. She goes home to the farm for Christmas. I'll be sure to post about that....
