My wife and I joined friends tonight for a cocktail....

The furniture is beat up.....half the chandler was out......and no music for the fireworks....

I asked a member of the staff.....they seemed like they could care less.....

:confused3

Anyone know what's going on up there? In the past we have had such a good time!

what no music for the fireworks?

they have the music at the CR 4th floor - so why would not the deck at TOW have it?

the furniture was fine when I visited in May too. so what happened?

Nooooo! That's terrible!! We were there in April and all was well!! I have friends going in August....just got finished telling them how wonderful it is!!!! UGH!!!!!:confused3

We went June 11 and things were in great shape. Our server told us the music was having issues, and she seemed genuinely sorry for that. There were several maintenance workers up there. By fireworks time, the music worked great. Perhaps their system is having some issues that need more serious work. :confused3

A pic is worth 1000 words.... any shots of the furniture problems?

Wow, it's beginning to sound like BLT is falling apart one section at a time. The rooms flood, the shower heads drip and rust, the AC goes out in each room one at a time, the furniture falls apart, and now even the amenities are declining drastically?! The cosmetic issues are worrisome but don't spell doom for the long-term success of BLT, but the structural and mechanical issues (like flooding and non-working expensive chandeliers) point to a much larger long-term problem. The location is great, but the more issues that crop up, the more I am convinced we will never add to the points we already have there. I am beginning to wish we had never purchased at that resort.

We did the member tour on 6/13 and things looked OK, but we were there in the middle of the day. I didn't notice a chandelier, and obviously there was no music being piped in. We sat at one of the round tables, and the table and chairs seemed in good condition. I didn't really look at the other furnishings very closely because it was crowded.

Maybe running tours of 60 people through the lounge every afternoon is taking a toll? :confused3

We were there last weekend. The place looks pretty much as good as it did when it first opened. Chandelier was fine. Music played for fireworks. CMs there were awesome as usual.

Are you sure you were at the Top of the World Lounge at Bay Lake Tower? Unless they had some extreme wild party there this week I don't see how it could have gotten that bad in a few days.

We were there a few nights ago, the only issue we had was the music, you could only barely hear it. Everything else was great. I do have to add that we really saw alot of children rolling all over the furniture, pillows from the furniture in the ground. My kids are not perfect, and get a little crazy, but it may help the wear and tear issue if more parents watched their kids.

Oh I so hope this isn't true! We'll be home in 17 days for the first time.

I am beginning to wonder if this post was put here to get some hot responses. The OP has only 13 post and two posters stated they have resently been there and there were no issues like the ones discribed! We were there just a few months ago and the lounge looked great!...smjj

I thought the same thing, although I am embarrassed to admit it. Seems to be a lot of people unhappy with BLT around the boards lately, although I know some of it is justified. However in general I think it just depends on everyone and their own attitude towards things. Everyone is different on how they view and perceive things. For one it may be no big deal and for soemone else it is enough to really upset them. I try to be a "glass half full" person but sometimes I fail. I am new to DVC so I have never stayed in any of the DVC rooms, but have stayed in all the Deluxe Resorts but one and some of them several times over. I always notice little things, especially wear and tear and sometimes have not always had the best service, but all in all nothing that would ever make me not want to continue to go to Disney or make me completely unhappy. However now that I am an owner, I may look at things differently. Only time will tell and possibly my opinion will change in the future. Or maybe I have been lucky up to this point not to have experienced anything too terrible. I will be staying at the VGC next month (my first DVC trip) I am expecting it to be great!

I was just there first week of June and it looked great to me! We saw the fireworks, well at least the top of the fireworks. And heard the music loud and clear. I have a picture somewhere....
