What's up with MS?

They seem to really lack consistency when you are making reservations or checking availability.

We decided to add a couple of days at VB onto our WDW trip. I called yesterday to check availability and was told no 2 Bdr but they did have 2 inn rooms availabe. After checking with DH last night I called again this morning to make the reservation. The first lady I spoke to at MS said that VB was completely sold out, so I waitlisted for a 2 Bdr. After thinking about it for 10 minutes I decided to call back and check on just extending the vacation at BWV. When I reached the person at MS this time I decided to have her recheck VB (because I have heard of problems before from these boards) and sure enough the inn rooms were available. Now, I realize there might have been a cancellation, but I highly doubt it given that we are within the 30 day cancellation period and it was only 10 minutes. Makes me wonder if everytime I am told there is no availability I shoud wait a few minutes and call back to get a different advisor.

I really do not want to file a complaint because we have always been very happy with the treatment we receive from MS, but does anyone know who I could call or email to voice my concern over the consistency. I wonder how many people just give up when they are told there is no availability?

Okay, now that I let off that steam I really can't wait for the trip. 2 days in Destin, FL, 10 days at WDW, and 3 days at VB. :wave:

It could of also been that a cash reservation cancelled and let go of some rooms. When I cancelled my VWL rooms for November I called back about 20 minutes later to reconsider, they were gone!!!
 
Call back and ask to speak to a manager - this may not be a problem with the CM but with the computer - report it so DVC can check.

If it is the computer - expect more problems in the future - if the CM they can easily retrain.
 
Thanks, I think I will call back and talk to a manager. Like I said, I really do not have a complaint with MS it just concerns me. I will always wonder now when I am told there is no availability. Does anyone know if the number for QA you get with your docs also does QA for MS? Also, does anyone know how to email or phone Jackie Leunder (sp?)? I have seen it here on the boards before but I can't remember where. Thanks for your help.

This is the 2nd post I've read recently about a similar problem with MS inside the 30 day window. I'm wondering if they have a few new CMs that are forgetting to check availability with CRO to pull back rooms that were previously released. While we shouldn't HAVE to remind the CMs, it wouldn't hurt to ask them if they've checked availablity with CRO since it is within the pull back window.

It's been years since I booked short-term, but the CM at first said they showed nothing available, but to hold while she checked one more thing...then she came back with an available room.

I have also seen a similar post here recently regarding this problem.

I did call back and spoke to a manager and she really did not have an answer as to what might have happened. The only thing she said was that the first CM may not have put me on hold to check the resort for availability. I assured her that the first CM put me on hold just like the 2nd CM did. I hate to waste calls to MS but I guess if I don't like the first answer I get I can call back and check with another CM.:D
