What's up with Montel and Sylvia Browne??

She lost me when those miners were trapped. Remember, there was the false report that they had been found alive?. She was on Larry King during that time period and she said she "knew" they were alive. Later when the report was retracted she had to do some heavy backtracking.

She is hard to believe. She'll say something like, "You know that big man with red hair who is at your office?" and they'll say, "No". Then she'll say, "Well, maybe he is a big man with blonde hair?" and they'll say, "no.", etc. etc. If she gets yes as an answer she goes on. If she gets no as an answer, she tries something else. I could do that.

just because you don't agree with her or with what other people believe, doesn't mean you have to get sarcastic about it.

New York doesn't really get "bad weather" we just get snow or rain. nothing really out of the ordinary.

when's the last time you heard them declare a State of Emergency in Western New York?? and then declare us a Natural Disaster Area???

It is hard not to get sarcastic, in a thread about Sylvia Browne.

My point(sarcasm) was in response to a very VAGUE prediction.

That is just it the term "BAD WEATHER" is very vague, and she(as do most logical persons) know it. From a quik Google search I see there was a Blizzard in 2005 and 2003, I am sure there are many more.

When was the last time they declared "Western New York" a disaster area???
I do not know but that is not what you said she predicted, and you did not quote a date either.

But if you feel her prediction was SPOT on, feel free to believe.

those two blizzards were in the middle of winter. if you recall.......now pay attention here(because you didn't last time) i said it's not even winter and we already HAD a severe storm. and the weather channel is predicting one of the worst winters we've had in a long time.

you wanted to prove me wrong so badly that you actually went and did a google search?? wow. ok. we had no blizzard last year(which would be 2005). yes we had a small blizzard in 2003, nothing like the one of 1977.

i never said all of her predictions were SPOT on. why is it so hard to believe that she can know things??

if this was 100 years ago you would have probably had her burned at the stake.

i've never heard her once say that. can you point me to a certain time she has done that? because it's usually "your father, his name is Bob. he has an angular face, dark hair, brown deep-set eyes" i've never heard her say "red....but could be blone." i've heard John Edwards do something like that, but not Sylvia.

why would you call her psycho? that's just rude.

you don't HAVE to pay for a reading from her. she does readings on Montel every Wednesday and she does readings at her lectures and she does readings for free on Hay House Radio every thursday.

so obviously she doesn't do it "all for the money".

I have to say that one thing on my life list is to go on and tell something totally fake to Sylvia Brown to see what she says and then laugh in her face when she tells me something just to tell her that I totally made up everything that I just told her.

My personal favorites include when she says somthing to the effect of "Do or did you know a tall man with dark brown hair?" I just sit there and think well who the f0ck doesn't? And then the person proceeds to know EXACTLY who she was talking about while I sit there with a list of about 50 people who could qualify say I was said paranoid person.

I have often wondered if she is real (and I don't know one way or the other), why she didn't warn Montel to stop cheating on his wife before the tabloids got a hold of the story? :confused3

they've talked about that on the show.

she only tells him things that her SG wants her to tell him. and she doesn't give Montel a reading unless he asks for one, and he says he doesn't really ask for them.

I'm pretty sure she wouldn't do it all for free...

Do you realize that there has never, ever been any actual scientific proof of any paranormal or psychic occurence?

so....what you believe we all die and that's it?? nice. but i don't believe it. too many strange things happen for me to just say "nope, don't believe it".

Believing in an afterlife and believing an alleged psychic can speak to the dead are two totally different subjects. I do believe in the afterlife. I don't believe a frequent guest on Montel has the powers to communicate with the dead. Maybe a guest from Jerry Springer, but not from Montel.

Wow and you were crying about sarcasm :rolleyes1

I did pay attention you are the one that needs to understand, I am not debating New Yorks weather. You said her prediction was "New York was gonna have bad weather", you mentioned nothing about middle of winter/fall/spring. The prediction did not give details on the severity, again it was all VERY VAGUE. Hence my "out on a limb" commment.

But she has been in the business long enough to know that vague prediction convince some...

Not about proving you wrong, since your low definition of "proof" has been demonstrated. But you made it seem like this prediction of "Bad weather in New York" made it sound like they have never had a blizzard or heavy snow storm. And again I am not debating weather this years winter will be above or below the norm, just that to most persons a harsh winter in New York is not surprising.

I am willing to bet that with the detail in predictions like your example, she will be spot on very often...

And now I would not have burned her at the stack, I would be doing the same as I am now. LAUGHING :rotfl2: :rotfl2: :rotfl2:

Do you know there has been no scientific proof of God, Jesus, Mary, or any other Christian character? That is why some call the Bible the #1 Best Saleing Fiction Book.

I think some people are given the "gift" of psychic ability. The bible address it and says to stay away from it so I take heed-most of the time. I have had some eerie things happen to myself that were just too weird to be a coincidence. Things I just "knew."

However, Sylvia predicting Brad and Jenn's divorce? Even without any psychic ability, I could've done that! I didn't hear exactly what she said about it, but I think you can safely say 99% of all Hollywood marriages are NOT going to last.

I saw her on Larry King one night while I was flipping through and Sylvia was telling this caller that her mother was watching over her. The caller seemed stunned and asked incredulously, "My mother???" SB said, "Yeah," and went to say how she was with her, blah blah blah. The called said, "My mother is dead?" and SB said, "Yeah," and went on... The caller said, "Well, I'll be sure to tell her that when I talk to her next time. SB seemed not to notice the sarcasm or that the girl was saying her mother was still alive. I think her response would've been that it was a "mother figure," because I've seen her do that before as an out. "It wasn't your actual mother, but a mother figure" hovering around you.

I've always been interested in Sylvia. I don't know if she's really psychic. She might be. I picked up her book at the store the other day and read that she said she's seen Jesus or been in contact with his spirit, something to that effect. Well, everyone who prays to him does, don't they? You just have to look for miracles in your life and stop long enough from the hectic-ness of life to recognize God working in your life. It's hard while it's happening to you, but it can be done.

I love it when the sunbeams come through the clouds and shine down on the earth so brilliantly. It always reminds me that God is right there with me. Every step of my life. You just have to look.

Haven't read all the posts but thought I would throw this story out there for you. I don't watch Montel/Sylvia Brown and if I believe.....don't know. Anyway the story:

About 6-7 years ago my sister was driving to Pennsylvania through NJ. She stopped in a rest area and in the rest room she saw Sylvia Brown. All my sister said was "Wow, it's Sylvia Brown". Sylvia said hello and then told my sister that it would be in her best interest to not eat dairy products because if she didn't, her gall bladder would have to be removed. Sis said thanks; told everyone the story and a year later, yup, had her gall bladder removed.

Physic? Don't know, but if she figured out there was something wrong with my sister's gall bladder from saying hello and looking at her, then perhaps Sylvia should be in medicine.
