What's Up Today?

Pop tart gonig here today, but I toasted mine!

We're expecting big storms today, so I gotta get in gear!

Already fed the sandhill cranes, the song birds, the fish in the pond, the stray cat, and now I want to run the mower over the grass before the storms hit! Waiting for the coffee to kick in!

:surfweb:

Hey, friends, I really need to touch base with you all! After hitting the gym this morning (yes, I know, hard to believe, but I really do), I've pretty much had my face stuck in a computer all day working between a distance-learning group of participants that I montitor as I train them for specialized ministries (and, really, really, really want to knock heads sometimes, oh the temptation), and working on my new (professional) BLOG, which I'll add to my signature as soon as it's WORTHY! In between all of that I've had to pleasre to chat with a couple of you here and there and at the very last minute I finally got dinner started. So, here's my today:

EATING: Jumbo shrimp in clam sauce with whole wheat pasta, proceeded by an igourmet cheese plate of Atalanta Bleu and a french cheese peppered with truffles, served with sliced pear and water crackers (Yum).

DRINKING: A nice little Zinfandel, on sale these days, nothing subtle about it, filled with cherries and blueberries.

WATCHING: Medium, if I can stay AWAKE!

NET VACATION: WDW, approaching FAST!

So, please, everyone, chime in and where are you MIKE? Working too hard?

I just got home from sitting in the waiting room over an hour for an eye exam. Listening to people cough, sneeze and kids scream while you have a migraine isn't any fun. Having the doctor shine bright lights into my eyes wasn't much fun either!

EATING: Shrimp and angel hair pasta in a cream sauce (and some magic pills w/ codeine that are a gift from Canada - 222's rock, thank you to my Northern neighbors!)
DRINKING: water (migraine doesn't mix well w/ anything else)
WATCHING: nothing (migraine doesn't like sound either)
NEXT TRIP: Saturday!!!

Oh, Sue, that migraine sounds soooooo painful!!!!:scared1: :scared1: :scared1:

Greetings from the west coast!

Eating: Nothing yet but Mexican is on the agenda when Marc gets home.
Drinking: Cakebread Cellars Chardonnay (YUM!) at the moment and margaritas on the rocks with dinner
Watching: This past Monday's episode of 24 while brushing out one of the dogs. (Note to self: Next breed - NO LONG COATS)
Next Trip: Well, DCL in December but up to the wine country this weekend!

Sue, hope that migraine is history quickly!

Michael

Uh, today was my day off so I did not much of anything. Returned some jeans that were the wrong size, then met up with a former coworker for drinks and dinner at this bar called Georgie's Alibi. :goodvibes

I'm in a lovely meeting at the moment . Will be headed off to the airport after the meeting for a flight to WDW. Fun! :)

Ooooh, I'm so jealous but, hey, I'm only 9 months behind you!:rotfl:

How's the head?

Better thanks! Still a twinge of pain but not like last night. I'm sitting in my office with the lights off having my coffee and I'll be taking another round of drugs soon - that should do it. I would have liked to take today off but since I leave for WDW on Saturday it wasn't an option. On the plus side, if I leave my lights off all day most people will try not to bother me too much!

EATING: yogurt soon
DRINKING: coffee
WATCHING: nothing ... working (and DISing)

It's nice and warm here. Apparently the flight was bumpy and they couldn't do beverage service. I was unconscious the whole time and my ears were filled with iPod so unless I got thrown out of my seat I wouldn't have known. :teeth:

Oh, darling, that's a gift! I'd have white-knuckled it the entire time!:scared1:

Drinking..............AMYTHING I CAN GET MY HANDS ON, AND LOTS OF IT!

If your wondering why, just check any news site for "Disney"

I have been outsourced! :drinking1

I know there is always an upside to every situation, but currently I am in the "shocked" stage.

Bottoms up!

Mike - I am so sorry. That seems to be happening everywhere now and sadly there is no end in sight. I hope everything will work out for you.

It will, and this happens all the time, and I know everything will be fine.

It's just the first time a location I've worked in has closed.

It's gonna be sad.......

It definitely IS sad and I'm sad. I work for the Federal Government and it's happening here as well - outsourcing of IT and getting rid of internal technical staff to save money (which costs more money in the end and the contractors can't offer the same level of support, but that's another story!). A good friend of mine that had my job in another district was let go due to budget reasons - after over 12 years. I've been helping him with any leads I can find in the private sector and in the back of my mind I alway think "if it happened to him it can happen to me". My boss says my job is safe until he retires but that's only 3 years away.

I know you'll be fine. You're fortunate to live in an area that has jobs and you've got the skills and personality. Please keep me posted and I'll send some good vibes your way!

Mike, does that mean you still a have job, but the establishment is no longer Disney-owned?

I still have a job for now, but when the time comes, or maybe even before, I will have to transfer to another Disney owned location.....if there are any left! :rotfl2:

I feel better about the news this moring, yesterday was just a day of shock and awe for a lot of us.
