What's Up Today?

OK, let's see:

DRINKING: Currently, I am drinking FRESCA! :woohoo: But I do have plans to switch to something a tad harder. I'm thinking my own version of an appletini might be called for. That's where I mix my Ketel One Vodka with extra dry vermouth and then wave a green apple like a magic wand over this most excellent brew! :wizard:

EATING: Nothing in the moment, but I'm cooking up a storm. Tonight's dinner is shrimp gumbo accompanied with a nice medley of sauteed okra, onions, tomatoes, and EVOO. Yum yum.

I'm also whipping up a batch of baked eggplant in tomato sauce for tomorrow night's dinner. I've got a doc's appointment in the afternoon and don't want to come home, crash, and then eat something BAD. I save the BAD for the beverages! :drinking1

WATCHING: Well, right this second, the Eagles/Redskin game is on, but I can't really be accused of WATCHING it. It's more like white noice, only darker.

NEXT VACATION: OMG, would you look at that! :magnify: Apparently some lucky family is visiting WDW very, very soon. I use the word "lucky" advisedly because we booked this "emergency" trip back a few months ago, when I actually had a regularly paying gig, a gig which ended today. :sad2: I still have plenty of work, just not as much money. :sad2: (And, really, money is the least of it - we're not hurting. More importantly, I'm gonna miss the folk I've been working with :lovestruc - well, at least MOST of them! :lmao: )

In any event, we'll have to be a bit more cautious than we usually are with the big, bad, buck. Less food, more drinking. Sounds like a solid plan, eh? :teeth: Not sure what the kids are gonna do! :confused3

Im having a Diet Coke and Vanilla Vodka at the moment. The SO is having Vanilla Vodka and Diet Sprite (must watch those waist lines dont cha know)

Dinner was vegan hamburgers, and light/fat free chips. :thumbsup2 20 more pounds to go.

Our next trip will probably be the second week in December for the Christmas Party at MK. :Pinkbounc

Drinking: Sipping green tea. :surfweb:
Eating: NADA (have had a bad yucky tummy since Friday :crazy2: )
Cooking: Pot Roast w/carrots, potatos, and green beans in the crock-pot :stir: since I am currently kitchenless for about a week
Next vacation: DH is politicking for a trip to AK next spring -- it's either that or a trip to the UK with my daughter in March.

HOPE EVERYBODY'S HAVIN' A GOOD DAY! :thumbsup2

I am so sorry. I too am currently unemployed and now a couple words of completely unsolicited but sound advice) Whatever you do, Dear, avoid Home Depot like the plague! :rotfl2: :rotfl2: :rotfl2: I started out just wanting to fix a pesky leaky sink drain and now I'm sitting in the blasted remains of my great room/kitchen. It has more than a passing resemblence to Stalingrad after the siege. We found 2 separate mouse nests under baseboards yesterday. UGH! And I have re-painted one wall twice now and the color still isn't right.

Life was definitely easier back when I was working 50-60 hours per week and never noticed how shabby everything was/is... Well, enough kvetching -- I gotta head to the dump and then off to the Orange Taj Mahal to have yet another gallon of brown paint mixed (this time with just a smidge more yellow and red to match my tiles....)

"Orange Taj Mahal" :rotfl2:

That would be hysterical if it wern't so expensive!

Drinking: water (my well water actually tastes GOOD! :thumbsup2 )
Eating: Pumpkin Pie custard -- I don't know why it is but even after 30+ years of doing this -- I never end up with enough filling for an even number of pies
Cooking: Mince pie, Pumpkin pecan bread, and Hawaiian bread pudding. (This place smells great!!!!)
Thinking about: All in all, I have lots to be thankful for -- including all my buddies like you folks(virtual and otherwise). :grouphug:

HAPPY THANKSGIVING TO ALL MY G&LAD BUDDIES!!!!!!

Wow! It's been over a month since anyone posted on this thread!

Let's give it a tiny resurrection!

EATING: Yes, I will be. For one more day and then not again for the rest of the year! ;) Seriously, we just hosted our best buds, Danny and John (you'll remember them from the 2005 TR) for the week of Christmas, with me cooking up a storm every night, not to mention our annual Christmas Day trip down to Chinatown for dim sum, and for today we'll be hosting the inlaws for our annual New Year's Day get together. The menu includes my world famous pot roast and lots of other goodies.

DRINKING: I'll be whipping up a pitcher of pomegranate martinis!

WATCHING: Well, not TV, but we'll be playing our new DVD game "Scene It." Very fun.

NEXT TRIP: Hey, looking at the count down ticker, closer than I think. I better get on the phone tomorrow with member services and make a ressie!

Happy New Year!

HAPPY NEW YEARS, VIKI (and everybody else too of course)!!!

Eating: Cheezit crumbs atm (plan on chili for the masses later on)

Drinking: Diet Mountain Dew Code Red (no imbibing soda-pop containing sugar is one of my New Years resolutions. didn't say NUTHIN' about no caffeine tho ;) )

Watching: First time in YEARS -- the Rose Parade!

Next vacation: probably Alaska via ferry this summer w/family

Next WDW vacation: hopefully end of November 2007 (would TOTALLY love to put faces with names for those of you who will be there then) Probably FW tent-camping again since surprisingly I loved it last October. :rotfl: Who'd a thunk it?

DRINKING: Coffee, and lots of it!

DOING: Started off simply enough by taking down the Christmas lights outside, now I've noticed how high the grass is and I need to crank up the lawn mower! :headache:

It is January isn't it?

It is and why are we mowing lawns! Unseasonably hot temps. :confused3

Just had coffee and water today. Took down Christmas decorations myself and tore the garage apart pretending I was cleaning it. New shelves, don't you know? :scared:

been busy with work ( newspaper ads production , you know xmas and stuff ) wanted to say

HELLO to You All .

Hope all is well !!!!

This Saturday is one of my most favorite days. I have been planning it for weeks.

It......is......

WARDROBE ENHANCEMENT DAY!!!!!! :yay:

(i.e., I'm going shopping...yee hah)

DRINKING: Oooh, la la - so far I've had 3 of my famous Pomegranate Martinis ( 2 oz chopin vodka, 2 oz pom juice, 1 oz cointreau - shaken, not stirred). YIKES!!! :scared1:

EATING: Decent Chinese food that I picked up after a preaching gig this morning in North Philadelphia. Woo-hoo. We rocked the house with our German, African-American, Latina/o selves. Super, super worship that apparently left me hungry and thirsty!

WATCHING: We've been watching a tape of my daughter and her six best friends dancing at their High School Talent program. I missed it, what with being in Delray Beach. Fla all last week, training (and still very mysteriously having my flight "cancelled"). But now my DP has put on football, which I don't even get, given that the Iggles have played their last game of the 2006 season.

VACATION: Well, not exactly, but at some point in the next few hours I'm suppossed to pull my vodka-soaked butt out of this sofa and go see the Bottlerockets at the Souderton Theatre promote their new album - Zoysia - which I bought and liked based on the advice of Stephen King.

Woo-Hoo! Love this thread!!!! :goodvibes

Drinking -- Diet Mountin Dew. (hmmm.... Pom. Mrrtinis sound pretty dang interesting though -- even to this quasi-teetotlar))
Eating -- Nothing YET but I have great hopes for the not too distant future.
Watching -- Again nothing ATM but am trying to get the boys rounded up to go to the Multiplex -- don't know what they'll see but I want to see The Queen (Helen Mirren -- great actress)
Cooking -- probably Spaghetti and Meatballs w/a tossed salad for supper
Next Vaca -- ?????

TampaGuys -- how was your shopping trip? Didja find some good stuff? Everybody else doing OK?

Bumping for fun....

Drinking - Caffene free Pepsi, still got a pretty good coffee buzz going!

Eating - A "lefotover buffet" on the kitchen counter. (Cleaning out the fridge)

Watching: The TV is on the classic Disco station! :hippie:

Doing: Well I got a nose full of bleach, dust, mold, and mildew....cleaning the house!

Next trip - If it warms up tomorrow perhaps the MK for lunch. I really want to see those new talking heads!:scared1:

And taking a break now and again to check this board......

Last night I hated myself.

I went out and had baked stuffed lobster !!! I ate just about all of it plus the salad and the bacon wrapped around scallops oh and the calamari was very nice.

I'm eating a danged ole pop-tart COLD. A new low -- even for me :scared: Thank goodness I'm going back to work next week.

I'm eating tuna on two small pieces of lightly toasted rye with bit of EVOO and red pepper flakes.

I call it breakfast! And ... am on my way to the gym!
