I'm planning a trip to Universal and I want to know the best food to eat there, or am I going to be getting the same churo and cheseburger? Also any hotels? :grouphug:

Question is too general for this board.

Many restaurants.
3 onsite hotels.
A few offsite hotels within walking distance.

We need more details about what you are looking for.

There are lots of good suggestions on this board. There is also the Universal Resorts board with lots of hotel info. Take your time and go through the two boards. You will find plenty of good advice!

well wihtout more info I'll jsut go over our favorite places

IOA... Mytho. Everything is very good. 2 weeks ago I tried the lobster stuffed baked potatoe w/ salad for the 1st time. It was very good. Returned on another dya had had the risotto of the day. Woderful as usual. DS had the pad tai both times, and is still talking about it. DH had the cowboy sandwich as usual and loved it. Had burger the second time and really ejoyed it. DD had pizza and chicken fingers. Her 2 usuals there. Neither time was she very hungry. I actually ate part of her pizza, andi t very very good.

US.... Finnegans..... another must do every trip.DH and I both had the bangers and mashed potatoes. Very good as usual. I also like the chicken pot pie. DS had corned beef sandwich and really enjoyed it. Can't remember what DD had

CW...Margarittaville...... Well I actually was sick and unable to eat my crabcakes. I was very dissapointed because this is a favorite of mine. Since it was such a weird night DH, DD and DS aren't certain what they had LOL. No complaints, it was just a very long wet day and we were all about out of it.

RPR..... Tchoup Chop... oh my what can I say. Amazing comes to mind. I had the Ahi Tuna and lettuce wraps and the lobster miso soup. DH had the mixed grill and DS had a steak. DD had the kids Asian(?, not certain if that was the name) plate.Everything was amazing. We later returned for dessert and tea. Had the lavendar tea. It was very good. I had the pineapple unside down cake with ginger icecream. It was very good. DD had the chocolate covered strawberries. DH had the cocolate peanut butter cake, he loved it. DS had/loved banana cream pie.

Island dinning room....

Breakfast buffet..... very good wide variety of foods. Made to order omletes.
dinner..... I had the lamb shanks one night, which were very good. Later on had the pako crusted chicken. I really loved it. DS had a beef noodle bowl that he really liked. DH had the stead with wasabi mashed potatoes, and really liekd it. Rightn ow we cant remember their other 2 meals. DD had the kids bar one night, and the kids chicken salad the other. She really liked the chicken salad. The kids bar had several child friendly options.

stopped by Mythos today and Second Cook was working. He is filling in on a seasonal basis since Chef Mark is out with back problems. It was good to see him again. :smooth:

Hey Ametsfan18, for a awsome cheesburger try "Captain America Burgers" in Marvel Land. They are sooooo good ::yes::

Another vote for Finnegans and Jimmy Buffet's. :goodvibes Yummy food and fun atmosphere.

Universal has some of the best food.

Our favs:

PBH - Bice - Upscale and excellent food and service...great meal
Mama's - wonderful Italian homestyle food. Love the spaghetti and meatballs!

HRH- The Palm is one of the best steak houses ....surf and turf is our favorite...we order a lobster and a steak and share it.
There is also the Kitchen Sink (or at least there was the last visit in April) Have not eaten there yet but is another option at this hotel.

RPH-Tchop Tchop...everything is great here. The Mai Tai's are the original recipe and will knock you on your rear end - LOL!

City Walk - Emeril's for the obivious...if you know you want to go make reservations ahead of time..

Universal Studios - Finnigan's and sit at the bar - lots of fun. I ususally have 5 margarita's and go on the Mummy!
I forgot the name of the restaurant but it's the one in San Fransisco the seafood restaurant. It's really good and a nice place to sit and get out of the noise and heat of the park.

IOA - Mytho is probably the best place to eat...just great food.

If you decide to have lunch at your hotel, the food there is great too. PBH has an Italian gourmet deli takeout (forgot the name mario's maybe??)...brick oven pizzas, gourmet sandwiches and small bottles of champagne. There are also burgers and stuff by the pool.

I don't know exactly what you are looking for but Universal has the usual park fare in addition to wonderful and unexpected places to eat.

Tell me more about Mythos. Where is it located? Price range? Type of food? We're heading down to FL this week. I'd like to try something different at US/IOA. In the past we've always done HRC and Jimmy Buffet's along with some other places in the park.

Mythos is in IOA-Lost Continent across from Poseidon's furry

They have everyting from wraps/burgers/chicken sandwiches, to pasta,
steak and risotto. Price range for an entree, is in the 10-20 range.

:Pinkbounc :Pinkbounc my fave place to eat its JIMMY BUFFETTS! amazing cheeseburgers and drinks!

and op thats a very specific question

clarify? thanks

Ahhhh Thank You! I hate when I can't remember names. I do remember that we love it though!

I alos like the bar that is outside Lombards...it's like a little shack that juts out on a pier. It's a great place for drinks. They used to serve crab cones there...anyone remember those? It was crab meat on shreaded iceburg lettuce topped off with cocktail sauce. It was soooo good and very low calorie. They stopped serving it a long while ago -Boo hoo. They were great espically with a cold beer.

International Food and Film Festival, or IFFF, is the name.

USO Lombards... Was less crowded and less noisy than the others, food was very good and reasonably priced.Server was too attentive to the 3 men that night,it was ladies turn to pay. Will return.
.
IOA Mythos... Even during the holidays we walked right in for a noon lunch.Food was awesome ,coming from 5 really spoiled grown-ups.The dessert shooters were a novel and tasty.Already booking next res.
.
RPH Tchoup Chop...Food was out of this world, waitstaff were flawless and funny.Atmoshere was very cool.Bill was $360 for 5..apps,soup,entree,dessert and a 25%+ tip.
.
PBH Mama Dellas for New Years Eve...Awesome food, great waitstaff and atmosphere.Mama and the roving singers made it very comfortable.Bill was the same as Tchoup Chop but a little more servings.Had one of my top 5 all-time desserts,it involved mascarpone, currants, pralines and a raspberry sorbet.I licked the plate clean(kidding)
.
Confisco was a letdown, food was OK,waiter made a mistake in automatatically charging us a 15% gratuity. We normally tip 25%+ His loss,we were a small party.
.
Cinnabon was a lot easier for breakfast than Starbucks
