Now that the YOAMD, what will they do with it? Turn it back into the art gallery?:confused3

I know at WDW they are keeping the suite open for special occasion giveways and prizes but I too would like to know what happens to the suite at DL.

A while back someone posted a link to a contest on here in which the prize was a night in the Dream Suite, NOT through the Year of a Million Dreams promotion.

My guess would be that it will be used for private parties and possibly contest prizes. ??? Just a guess.....

I asked the CM that was doing YOAMD and she said they use it frequently for business, if there is some sort of business deal that DL is trying to make or they have some special out of town DL guest they offer it to them.....

I have read on a couple other Disney Fan sites that it will be used for private parties, to entertain mucky mucks and as special give-aways. I miss the Gallery. :(

I really miss the Gallery in that location a lot! I loved that place! But what everyone else is saying makes sense. DLR will have to use it for occasional contest giveaways and as a place to stash corporate VIPs and famous high-level people. Like if President Obama wants to go to DLR, chances are he will end up in the Dream Suite! If Gov. Arnold Schwarzenegger wants to take his whole family to DLR, they will end up in the Dream Suite. Let's hope DLR doesn't get crazy with it and start letting people like Corey Feldman and Pauly Shore stay in the Dream Suite!

on the walking in Walts footsteps tour yesterday, our guide told us that they re planning to open it to the public in the near future as a tour exerience (she said that it may give a glimps of Walts family and personal life). that would be cool if it happend, but you know CM rumors!!!

I hope not the near future; the suite has only been given away to guests for less than 10 years! I hope that they'll keep it up for at least that long before shutting it down; that'd be such a short time if it was closing down so soon :/

I never once went into the Gallery. I sure wish I had.

I didn't know it had been open for that long. I thought they transformed it to the suite for the YOAMD promo. :confused3

I also miss the gallery and loved watching F from the balcony.

... I miss the Gallery. :(

Me too. To me, that was the heart of Disneyland in that, without the art, there would be no characters, stories we love and adore, princesses and princes we dream of and so much more. It all starts from the art for me.

I went to visit the Gallery one last time the night before it closed. It was a special evening. All guests in there seemed to have a unique appreciation for what was soon to no longer be.

Is that no longer an option? It seems a smart thing to do would be to move the Fantasmic premium seating back to the balcony, but I have no idea what the place now looks like. Why can't they just open it up for that purpose again?

the gallary will be moving to Main Street, in the old Opera house "waiting room" from what I have read. The old exit will be the new enterance and the show will exit into the gallary. Not sure if you have to sit through the show first or not.

I am sure the dream suite will be used as part of the what will you celebrate promotion and maybe even for make a dream guests. In addition to I am sure VIPs.

With money and profits tightening up they might just pull an "Eisner" and simply close it down. I hope not but I wouldn't be surprised.

I really liked the location of the old Gallery. It was just very spacious and had several different viewing rooms, and they sold notecards with artwork from the HM and Mr. Toad, etc., as well as old attraction posters. I just don't know if the Main Street location will have the same feeling of openness to it. There was something very fitting and appropriate about the Gallery being in the NOS spot. But...too late for me to protest now! It is already gone and the Dream Suite has taken over!:goodvibes

And yes, it was a good viewing spot for Fantasmic!

I just realized I never got to take a look at the Gallery before that area got renovated. Aw... :(

While I did like the gallery, I'm glad that they did make a dream suite in the park and in such a central location (and didn't continue to keep the winners in a hotel or stick them in Walt's old apartment) and I hope that that they do continue to keep it for contests for the near future (so that I can finally have a chance to stay in it ;) ).

The last time I was at the gallery was 2006 and I went to go look at the POTC stuff that they had...only to look outside a few minutes later to see a real pirate (Jack Sparrow) roaming the streets of NOS. I immediately took off after Jack, thinking, "Screw paintings of pirates, there's the real deal right there." That moment just served to remind me why I love Disneyland. It's the only place where they take pictures and stories and bring them to life, making them into things that you can experience with all 5 of your senses.

Man, I would way, way rather get to spend time in Walt's apartment on Main Street than the Dream Suite! DL's first structure and the place Walt slept while he was creating DL...

I know CMs on rare occasions are given the honor of getting to visit the room but you could work there for 20 years and not get the opportunity.

Dream Suite is sweet but Walt's lair, that is pure Disney history!

That would be so cool! But I would've loved it better if they actually chose me to stay in that darn dream suite. The tram said that my dreams would come true during YOAMD, but it lied! Darn you tram! :p

Oh how I miss watching Fantasmic from the gallery balcony. I felt so high above everyone and the dessert buffet was awesome!
