What's the worst restaurant in WDW?

Such a subjective question!

I agree with those who say Sci-Fi. It was the most disappointing meal we've had at WDW, and that includes counter service.

My DS loved the atmosphere, but even he said, "this food is blah."

Personally, I can't stand Tony's but my kids like it. Oh they of the cast iron stomachs!!!!:confused3

The worst for us includes:

Tony's Town Square....sorry, the location and atmosphere should make it a good pick but it is terrible. It shouldn't be hard to do pasta and some basic Italian chicken dishes well.

Sci-Fi Dine In -- love the place but the food is so bland and average. Wouldn't get anything other than the burger or chicken sandwich there...and wouldn't bother doing dinner there, just lunch.

Hollywood and Vine -- was way better when it wasn't a character meal place and was just a cafeteria.

L'Originale Alfredo's in Epcot -- haven't had a good experience there in about 10 years. Looking forward to the next visit with new owners.

Garden Grille -- terrible food, service, and atmosphere. Way better before the Character meals. It used to be a very quiet and relaxing way to spend lunch or dinner "listening to the Land" sounds.

O'hana -- the last two times we ate there everything was dry and overcooked.

We have two, Planet Hollywood.. YUCK:sick: Never ever again and Dinner at Kona, the salad we got with the blue cheese dressing was NASTY. Breakfast there was good, but neither DH and I liked our dinners

We detest the Pepper Market but like most of the other Disney restaurants.

I only have two, and these were recent ones since ive always liked Disney dining, but it seems things have changed in the past few years.

Crystal Palace - Food was OK, people who have ADR's before park opening are rushed around and characters rarely come out.

Le Cellier - Does not live up to the hype IMO.

Hollywood and Vine- My DH and I got the Fanstasmic dinner show, but wish we hadn't. It kind of looks like my cafeteria at my work. The food was blah and the Disney CM were rude.

I guess what we can learn from this is that EVERY Restaurant has good days and bad days...just like people. No one is perfect.

So true, and there can be as many opinions as there are "bad/good" restaurants.

For me, the absolute worst I'll never step foot inside again was Capt'n Jacks. I still swear they poisoned me but according to Disney, they had no other complaints of people getting sick.

The other one that I really disliked but could possibly be pursuaded to try again was 50s Prime Time. If I wanted to eat food that tasted like it came from my own kitchen, I'd save a bunch of money and stay home :rotfl:

Again, I listen to the servers recommendations unless its family style or buffet, and by doing so, i have always enjoyed my food.

My biggest surprise at how GOOD the food was... the grand floridaian cafe... I was there for lunch unplanned... the soups, bread, sweets, and my entree were just incredible.. top notch..

Mama Melrose's
Planet Hollywood (got sick from this dinner)
Ohana
50's Primetime Cafe & Sci Fi (both great atmosphere but not so great food)
Commissary

I did not prefer the food at Cinderella's Royal Table, but I liked the restaurant overall. My husband a seafood junky hated Coral Reef.

I don't like seafood, so I ate steak. It was okay, but I've had better. Bleh!

I almost made ADRs are Garden Grill. I'm glad I didn't.

ahhh.. im so scared.. i am going in 3 weeks and have ADRs at alot of these places! haha.. if anyone is willing to offer their advice.. i'm seriously considering changing some of my choices, granted I can still get in of course.

here goes what i have:

first day there- coral reef--- i plan on keeping this because i already have a diver and personalized menu for my dbf

hollywood and vine- for fantasmic package.... really contemplating changing this

donalds breakfastosaurus-- dbf is excited about the dinosaurs.. so i think that stays too.. haha

Personally, I wouldn't worry about it. As I stated some pages back, you really have to try the restaurants you think you would like, and don't be too concerned about what others may think. Some may hate a restaurant, but you may just love it. It all boils down to the fact that you need to try these places and judge for yourself.
Pretty much ANY restaurant ANYWHERE can have bad days as well as good days. That's pretty much what we have discovered over our 18 years of Disney-eats!:)

Worst
#1 Planet Hollywood- Bad Service, Bad Food, Wrong Food both times we were there. Forget trying to get a Medium Rare anything. Now you know why Disney offers a free $15 voucher to it. Horrible.

#2 San Angel Inn- I love the look of the place but the Food is just so blah. I have had much better Mexican food at home. Had the steak (ok nothing to write home about) and enchilada (how can an enchillada be bad? It was) combo and it was served with frozen peas carrots and corn like you would get at a supermarket!!! Just very disappointing. I expected a good if not great Mexican meal and got a Frozen Banquet Mexican diner. I expected more and was let down.

#3 Polynesian Luau- Food was ok but again, for the money I expected so much more. The Dessert was such a letdown after the fanfare bringing it out. I was shocked. The best part of the Dinner was my real Coconut Souvenir Cocktail, that should tell you something!

In our limited disney restaurant experience (we have only been to WDW twice) the worst counter service was ABC commisary.... none of us liked our meal... and table service would have to be Tony's.... we liked the atmosphere.... but the food was terrible.

This is easy........ Marakesh is clearly the worst restaurant in all of WDW.

Lousy rude service.
The food is hit or miss...one day it will be good and then on your next visit the food will be terrible.
If you go on a day the belly dancer doesn't feel like working; the show will only last a total of 5 minutes.

I'm glad you said this -- we've been to Marakeesh 2x. You have accurately reflected our experience -- 1st trip food good -- 2nd trip - well DH still is complaining to me about his meal. The service was awful -- 1/2 our party was on the DDP 1/2 our party was not... the 1/2 that was on the DDP (us) did not get our drinks without asking 3-4 times, were totally ignored by the server and got rude looks. The 1/2 that was not on the DDP had good service. I don't know if the DDP was the reason or the fact that we had small kids and the server didn't like kids. DH has forever forbid us going back. That's really too bad -- guess I'll have to try Tangierine Cafe next trip.

We love the Tangierine Cafe and hate Marrakesh (for the reasons posted).
