We are planning on the week of 12/15 thorugh 12/22 - what is the weather like - days and nights at that time of year?

This year it was comfortable during the days, in the mid 60's, and at night it got quite cool, mid 40's. The only problem was that it rained almost every day during our trip. Few real downpours, just a constant drizzle. We had a great time anyway, we never let the weather dampen our spirits!!

You can expect:
Warm-to-Cool days.
Chilly-to-downright COLD (and very windy, on occasion) after dark.

Pack items that allow for layers of clothing.

Zip-on gym warm-ups that can be worn over shorts or jeans are great.
Wear them to the parks on the chilly mornings, then, zip 'em off (put in a locker) when the sun warms up.
Later, when a mild daytime outing turns frosty in the evening, zip 'em on again.

It has actually dropped into the lower 30's on some of our winter trips.
(Disney had to replace many to the outdoor plants due to frost damage.)

Thick "letterman-type" jackets are good to pack, too.

We even pack thin thermal underwear in one of our backpacks so we can slip it on in a restroom if we plan on doing a late EMH and there's a WINDY COLD SNAP.
Our earmuffs get plenty of comments (like WHERE can WE get some?) and they can make a damp windy miserable night quite bearable.

OTOH, sometimes the day temps are in the 80's, nights in the upper 60's..

The point is, since the weather is SO VARIABLE (year-to-year, or even day-to-day), and
most folks make a major investment in a WDW trip, it helps to "pack for all temps" just in case. It can save you if there's a turn in the weather.

DH and I went in 2003 and one day it would be 65 and sunny then one night it was 39 and drizzly. I would take tons of layers and we would put them in my back pack as we would get hotter. That trip the hottest it was was 81 and coldest 39 so as others have said temps vary greatly.

Florida's winter months are all about layering. You can start out at 40 & end up high 70's then back down to 40's at night... all in one day!

We were there 12/17-12/26. During the day the first part of the week, it was in the upper 50's-lower 60's but breezy. At night, it was cold (40's). We wore long sleeves, pants, jackets most of the week. We went to MVMCP on 12/18 and it drizzled off and on all night. It did get better by the time my birthday came around (12/23) and on Christmas eve, it was pretty warm in the afternoon. By then, my dd's were wearing shorts. They did manage to go swimming a couple of times that week. Just be prepared for all kinds of temps and weather.
