seafood buffet at the Beach Club?! Is it a yay or nay?!:confused3

It is called Cape May, has a character breakfast and buffet dinner (no characters at dinner). I have not been there in years. I was quite unimpressed by it. You'll see many reports from those who love it though.

Hi. It's really not a seafood buffet, per se. It's a buffet that has seafood! It also has great chicken and ribs.

Cape May Cafe is one of our favorites. They have crab legs, steamed clams and mussels and usually one steamed and one fried fish. Then the other side of the buffet has typical meats, veggies and potatoes. Really nice salad bar and good New England Clam Chowder, too.

We've never had a bad experience there. I think people judge it by the price and say you can get the same thing at Golden Corral. I disagree, but that's me ;)

We prefer to eat in our villa most of the time, as we hate eating restaurant food every day. But we will usually go here to eat as one of our dinners out. For our June trip, it's one of only two ADRs we have.

We spent 6 days at Disney last month and Cape May was the absolute highlight of our dining. We had one breakfast there and one dinner. The seafood buffet was fresh and hot, and seemed to have something to please everyone. The crab legs are great, but there are many other options. I enjoyed their salads (caesar, orzo with veggies, tomato&cucumber). The ribs were fabulous - not fatty and perfectly seasoned. We would highly recommend it. Even my DD6 loved the chicken nuggets!

Cape May Clambake gets a huge YAY from us...if you want to see a million pictures of the food click on my Nov 10 thread

I would not have chosen to eat there in July had I not been using a DDP credit for it.

That being said, I thought the buffet was pretty decent. Not spectacular "wow", but not bad, either.

We have done the "Cape May Clam Cake" buffet twice. We enjoyed it both times. Was it gourmet? No, but it was very good. Everything was very fresh, replenished often, and hot. Although we won't be dining there on our upcoming trip, I may need to sneak over there and steal a few of the Oreo bon-bons. Does anyone know of another restaurant that has them??

I haven't eaten there in years. It's been hit or miss for us. With that said, I have an ADR for March. We are ready to try it again! Hopefully it will be a hit!

We always tease dh about Cape May Cafe. He once put BBQ sauce on his mashed potatoes thinking it was gravy.
