Well, IMO, the most rare thing to find on VMK are good friends who you can really trust. So, that is what makes the ones you have so special and rare.
Green bag pants, green flips, sure they are nice. But what really keeps me coming back everyday? Friends.

As for the most valuable item that is "trade-able" (aka the people who have it would at least CONSIDER trading it) would be the yellow(/gray) stitch box. There was only 1 released, and a lot of my friends have passed it around, trading it each time. Apparently a tester wasn't supposed to trade it yet...

Green Ears because only staff has them in their inventory. And since staff wont trade with you its the most rare

Since the question uses the word valuable, then the answer is going to be the old staff clothes (green baggy pants, and shirts)

Even green flips trade for more value than any of the other mentioned beta and unreleased items.

I don't know about Rare- I have a bunch of those-

I'd think the most rare, tradeable item in vmk would be Baby's pirate hat. For those who haven't seen it, it's basically the brown pirate hat (I don't believe it has the eye patch), with a green parrot on it. I think Baby is the only person in vmk with it. I know it's tradeable as I've seen another of his friends wear it sometimes. If you see him and ask about his hat, he will tell you that he was born with it.

Nice catch, but there is another, soarinsoarin has it. There may be another also I am not sure.

Didn't know there was another! Wow, those two are lucky ducks! Aengus, you've been on vmk a while. Do you know the story behind this hat? How do Baby and soarinsoarin rank that they got it? Might they be part of the development team, or be a relative or friend of the designers?

Baby was created with it, like a bug. When he created his character it was there. For the longest time he couldnt take the hat off even. Finally they "fixed" him and they let him keep the hat. He could never wear any other hat before they fixed it.

I remember seeing both of them with that hat, and I believe Soar said to me that staff made it not tradeable for him, it was a while ago though.... I guess they were worried he would trade it for 100 pairs of green flips lol

No girls do not get the green plain shirts with the bellybutton showing 0_o they get all colors but the original green off of the first girls staff outfit and about the boys the staff wore a brighter green then the selling one so my point is the girls green staff shirt is the rarest item
