What's the most "rare" character you've met?

January 2005 the Dumbo ride was closed. So they decided to bring out Dumbo. It seemed pretty special even cast members were coming to see him. He was not signing but we got plenty of pictures.

Has anyone seen any of the Little Einstein characters? They are listed as ridiculously rare. I would love to see them!!

All four were out for Mickey's Not So Scary Halloween Party last October. They were heading in when we saw them so we didn't get the autographs :sad2: We did get Malificient and Big Bad Wolf that night as well as Abu, Tarzan and Jane Porter. :cool1:

Reports are that 2 of them are now making regular appearances in the trailer next to JoJo's trailer.

WOW! What a GREAT subject for a thread!!!!!! :sunny:

In case anyone was wondering on how rare a character is, I know HugsforEeyore has a pretty complete listing here. If a character isn't listed, that means they're really rare or aren't out anymore.
Thanks, Meeko!! :cloud9: There are some characters we don't list, as we never found them or just flat out gave up on!! Shang, Brer Fox, Kronk, Kuzko, and those rare Bugs Life characters (Francais Ladybug, Tuck and Roll) are some! So if anyone got any of them - WOW!! Savor those photos!! :teeth:

I think our rarest are Pain, Panic, John Smith, Practical Pig, Fiddler Pig, Thumper, Rebecca Cunningham, B.E.N., Jim Hawkings, Sora, Zowie, Rolie Polie Olie, Stromboli, Goliath the Gaygoyle, Snow White Witch, and Jiminy Cricket! :)

Our "common/rare" scale on our website is purely a matter of our own humble opinion - we tried our best but some characters are hard to judge! :teeth: Some characters are more common in certain times of the year. A good example is Brer Fox - I read posts here of people who see Brer Fox "all the time", while others claim he has not been out in years! I swear, some characters will be out alot on one trip so it seems they are "always out", but then they disappear for months and months!! So sometimes "rareity" can be very subjective! :)

To the OP - that's wonderful you want to find the rarest characters out! You are going in October? Your best bet is going to Mickey's Not-So-Scary Halloween party, as there could be some awesome characters out! If you are going to MNSSHP and are not going to the very 1st party, read the DIS here for reports from people who already went, as they usually tell of what characters they saw and where they are! :)

Bre'r Fox has gone through a costume redesign. he will start making more apperances along with bre'r bear. Bre'r rabbit can be seen occationaly out in front of animal kingdom. They don't use him much because people think he's the quik bunny.

But Bre'r Bear ain't that uncommon. Trust me "I know" it's just that nobody likes to do him, he hurts your back.

wow - so according to this, we met quite a few characters who are "somewhat unusual", "rare" and "really really rare" all in one trip!

Cool!
WOW!! Excellent characters - you got Jiminy!!!! He is the ultimate character to meet! Well, got to say that in your photos, meeting Prince John is not exactly rare - for some reason, he gets out alot for a villain!! :teeth:

yes he is out a lot, problem is a lot of people have no clue who he is.

pitty, robin hood is one of Disneys best

We were lucky enough to meet all 4 Little Einsteins while at the MNSSHP in Oct. The boys are ours, but the little girl was not. They were really cute and our boys were thrilled to meet them.

Brer Fox may finally get out??? Oh please!! Come on Disney - if you got the costume, use it!! :teeth:

I agree that Brer Bear does get out alot, if you know where to look! He is a personal favorite of mine! :)

if you want to see "yellow" rabbit, he sometimes shows up as poohs friend at the grand floridian breakfast and sometimes fills in if piglet eeyore or tigger can't make the Crystal Palace breakfast, but it is very rare. I personaly love his costume.

I have a Clopin autograph. It was totally cool he was hiding in France. :cool1:
Clopin is a rare one! He used to be out much more often three years ago. I personally have not seen him in over two years, and I look on every trip! He may be a hard one to cast, as every Clopin I met has been able to speak Fluent French! :)

I listed them as "ridiculously rare/special events" since I don't know what is happening with them! They are so popular so I am hoping they are going to be regular somewhere! I heard they were at MGM in February, but I don't know if that was the start of a new location or just a temp thing. Anyone seen them there in March?? I know people saw them in February, but I won't reclassify them until I am sure! I tend to err on the side of caution with the rare/common scale! :teeth:

just fyi chicken little and abby malard are moving to the mgm hat soon.

Some "Old School" characters we've enjoyed from the past were the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles (Our DS's favs) and Roger Rabbit (DW & my fav) from the early 90's (All at MGM). We also remember Figment as a puppet held by...if I remember right, Dreamfinder in Epcot. That was the mid 80's.

The rarest one I've met is Stromboli, the one time I visited Disneyland Paris. He and Gepetto had a disagreement over my autograph book.

The rarest one I've been friends with is Rabbit (Pooh's friend). He was really nice (his fur is beautiful!), and the guests who got to meet him were so happy about it because he does not come out very often.

The ones I really want to meet don't exist as meet-and-greet characters - Jack Skellington and Sally!

ok i might be imagining this (but im pretty sure im not) but i think in my 1st trip to WDW i saw the seven dwarves walking past the tea cups back to the backstage area, if im remembering correctly i think its kinda rare. :)
