I would really love to hear from some fellow Disers about the Wave restaurant in CR, what do ya know/think?
Oh....and I have big eaters (boys) in the group, so please let me know if you think the portions are decent. Thank you in advance for the info. :thumbsup2

We went in Sept. for dinner and we really enjoyed it!! It was such a nice break from the parks and nice having a meal not geared for the kids! I thought the portions were a bit small though. I would definately go again!! The kids did really enjoy it though...they even asked to go again!:)

We have had dinner there twice, March and Aug of this year, both times the food, service and atmosphere was fantastic...I would not hesitate to eat here again

We went there last year about one month after it opened. It had great service! We were on the DDP and my 2 teenage sons were satisfied with the amount of food they served ... they got dessert too. This was one of their favorite places to eat. Hope this helps --

I have had lunch twice at The Wave. I highly recommend the grilled chicken sandwich with goat cheese. Yummy. I found the service excellent and the portions of average size.

My DH and I have eaten there twice so far. They have really good burgers for lunch.

I agree with the others....we ate there a couple of weeks ago for dinner and it was the best meal of the trip. Great food, exceptional service. I would rate the portion sizes as adequate but not massive like many WDW dining sites.

I guess I'll be the oddball here--there's always gotta be at least one, right?! My DH and I had the Wave for dinner in September, and both of us agreed that it's somewhere that we're definitely not interested in returning to. Now I will say that I'm a pretty picky eater, but the DH usually has an easy time finding something to eat--however both of us had a hard time finding something good on the menu. And what we chose just wasn't good...it certainly didn't seem like Disney food to us.

A big Texas thank you to all of you!!! :goodvibes

I appreciate everyone. Thank you for giving me your opinions and knowledge about the Wave. I have a few more days before I can officially make my ADR's and I'm still battling <with myself> over a couple of places I'm just not sure about, I want to eat at a few new places from last time, but I also want to keep a few that were really good. Ahhh, if only all of life were this difficult. :rotfl:
;)

The chicken pot pie is excellent. The steak could be cut with a butterknife (and we subbed the roasted potato wedges - oh so good).

The portions are sufficient but I can't say that they are among the larger portions at WDW.

Ate here in September..I really liked it, my sister was kind of ambivalent. However, I am someone who loves to try new things/meals etc. My sis, not so much. She didn't hate it, just wasn't enthused.Ended up getting the chicken(pot pie)

I got the tuna steak-first time I've had tuna that didn't come in a can.:lmao: OMG, it was fantastic. :thumbsup2

We will eat here again but I'm thinking lunch next time if she's with me. It seems like there are more options for a picky eater at lunch.

My sis and BIL at their in June and loved it. they said they want to go back their again. They each had a steak. It was quiet place they said and didn't feel rushed at all.
My sis dislikes place that make her feel rushed. I hope to be able to go to the Wave on the next trip!:thumbsup2

Great reviews....now the big question, I'll be there next week and we purposely made no ADRs for Saturday, kind of an experiment. No kids on this trip, just me and DW. What would the chances be, based on your observations, of gettin a table for two for dinner? I'm sure we would have a wait but I'm sure we could occupy ourselves if we thought a table was going to become available.

My sister and Brother In Law went in june even though they had ADRs. My sis said her ADR's where for when the Restaurant opened and they felt they could have gotten in with out and ADRs at opening. However later in the meal they both said it was getting fuller so they didn't think at that point they would have gotten in right away if they went later. So I would call or try going when they open! Good luck

We called Disney Dining at 4 pm and were able to get a same day ADR for 6:40pm on a Friday night (October 30th).

Ate there last week and was not impressed. I had the filet mignon - it was average. I have had better at Outback steakhouse. The atmosphere was nice though.

We really liked the Wave. I had the lamb and DH had steak. Both were very good, especially the lamb. The food felt less heavy than other places - very welcome in our eyes. The dessert trios were absolutely delish, but they were a little small. It was probably our 2nd favorite restaurant of the trip. :thumbsup2

Ask for Tim for your server...he was exceptional (old school disney service).

Get the dessert that has the cheesecake in it. I didn't do it and I regretted it.

Tim then came out with a trio of all cheesecakes for us!

We went at lunch time, the menu options were more to our likings.
The portions are normal human size and not typical over the top restaurant portions.
We enjoyed it a lot.
