What's the first thing you like to do after boarding the ship?
Get lunch, swim, explore the ship?

Have lunch, drop off carry-ons as soon as the room is available, then people watch from the verandah.

When I wasn't able to book Palo on-line, my first stop was to take care of that onboard.

Get tickets for the ticketed events (princess gatherings, character breakfasts, Frozen meet and greet) and then pig out at the sit-down lunch.

Get our tickets at the Guest Services/Adventures Desks... (greets, tastings, etc)
Go to dining services to ensure private table and food allergies are noted.
Go to room to drop stuff off and completely unpack.
Muster Drill.
Sail Away.

We board late on purpose to beat the rush and crowds. We eat before we get on board so our first meal is dinner.

Leave my stress behind. Then I fill up my account with cards at Guest Service, Eat lunch, Oceaneers club, check out our stateroom, Drink, DVC member reception, join our FB Meet and Greet, Drink some more!

  • I used to hit the buffets first.... NOT ANY MORE. I look for a seat in the MDR (It was Parrot Cay in the old Wonder Days). Balancing food in one hand, luggage in a second hand, while trying to find an empty table is so ugly.
  • once we have a table and the group is eating, I would wander off solo for...
    • dining adjustments
    • tickets
    • moving carry-ons into room when they are available
    • check navigator for things of interest

Head to Cabanas for food.
Book any tastings I want.
Double check that gluten-free is on my reservation - and (especially after my last solo cruise where they did a "solo dump" that was horrendous for me) check to see if I was given my own table and if not if I can be moved to one.
Wander the ship.
Hit my cabin as soon as they are available and settle in - especially because it's never been too long after they're open that my checked bag arrives.

How long after your boarding time does it typically take until your room is ready?

How long after your boarding time does it typically take until your room is ready?

Rooms are typically ready 1:00/1:30. But sometimes it is later depending on if they have an inspection or clearance takes longer, etc. They will let you know in the terminal and with signage on the ship if it is going to be later.

Get a coffee from Cove Cafe.
Eat at Cabanas.
Sign up for tastings.
Explore.

Take pics. Sign up for any activities I missed. Including dining and princess pictures. Head to mdr to eat. Go to room and rest until muster.

1) Book activities I want to do.

2) Drop luggage in the room (we use the shuttle so the room is ready when we embark).

3) Go eat at Cabanas.

4) Order a drink.

5) Fire Drill.

Then happy cruisin' !!
