What's the first resort you ever stayed at?

our first was the cbr . it was very nice and like a bunch of tourists we were amazed at the in room safe.(its the small things).oh p.s. dont buy the refill cup unless you plan on staying at the food court all day...who does???..anyway that was ours...

Our first resort was ASMO back in 1999. We stayed in the Toy Story bldg and after that we said we would never stay off property again and I'm happy to say that so far we've only stayed at Disney Property.

8 days until we arrive at the Poly:bounce:

Our first stay was at Ft. Wilderness the year WDW opened. I can remember taking the monorail through the Contemporary and past the Poly thinking that was where the rich people stayed and I would stay there one day myself. Next stay the old Disney Inn (now SoG). Our first big trip was at the CBR. We loved it so much that we stayed there every trip for years. Even now when we go and stay at the BWI or Poly, we still feel twinges of missing the CBR so we always visit it while we are there. Next trip 11/03 we are spending six nights at the BWI and then back to our roots at the CBR for a week. I think memories of a good time define a place far more than the fanciness of a lobby or the quality of the sheets. There is no luxury that comes close to memories of watching the sunset over the lake at the CBR with family and friends or going under the bridge along the walkway and singing our hearts out like a bunch of fools.

Our first stay was at POFQ. We enjoyed it very much and have returned several times. However, two years ago DH and I stayed at BW. I'm hooked on the BW. I love the convenience to Epcot, especially for late night suppers. There was lots to do.z

Our first resort was the Comtemporary..went with my friend and then the following year went on my Honeymoon there. The last few times we have stayed at Port Orleans Riverside...we will be staying there (POR) in May of '04.

Our first resort was the Poly way back in 1975 on our honeymoon! DH & I have brought the kids and now extended family back many times, but we have yet to make it back to the Poly. Our plan is to spend our 30th wedding anniversary in 2005 back at the Poly! Over the years we have stayed at CBR on several occasions & All Star Sports & Movies. Two years ago DH & I went for the first time since our honeymoon without kids. We stayed at POR & CSR. We liked it so much that we did it again without kids and stayed at POFQ. Of course, we have made little side trips with the kids along the way. This year DH & I will be at the WL & AKL!

In 1979 I visited the Contemporary for my first visit to WDW. I was 9 years old and just couldn't get over that monorail going through the hotel. :D

Stayed at the Contemporary Resort during Easter of 1973 - I was 12. Tower, higher floor, MK view - I have lots of fond memories of that trip with my parents. Stayed there again a few years later, but garden wing.

When we finally took our only DS, we went back to the CR; Tower, higher floor, MK view - tried (and succeeded in) giving him his own set of fond memories.

Now that we're empty nesters, I thought about going back - again - to the Contemporary. But what looked cool at 12 now makes me afraid that I'll be caught by a Sandman. (Obscure movie reference). Because we're looking for romance, we're trying the Polynesian; because we looking for thrills, we're staying at the Tahiti Concierge Rehab (duh duh duhhhh).

Our first stay on property was at Dixie Landings. We stayed there 3 straight years then got hooked on the Epcit resorts area. We try to get back to POR once each trip to eat at the food court & take the boat to DD in the evening. I would be happy to stay there again if we couldn't any discounted rooms near Epcot-- just love that location.

Our first and only resort was the Villas at the Institute, several times. The first stay was by accident, we were scheduled to stay at Fort Wilderness, but a terrible storm had did a ton of damage the night before and everyone had to be sent to other places to stay. We were told we would be staying at the Institute, and silly me asked if it was as spacious and as nice as I had heard that the cabins were. We ended up in a two story, two bedroom, two bath townhouse! Needless to say we were hooked.

We have always talked about trying somewhere else, even checked in to the ALL Star Sports, for a Spring training trip in March one year. Ran in to numerous problems even getting a room and decided that the Institute was the place for us, so off we went.

With them now being closed we are forced to try somewhere else. So on our next trip, we will be trying out 3 new resorts. WL, AKL and OKW. I have a feeling that OKW will be for us, with DVC not to far behind.

For my first Disney trip with my family, we stayed at the Poly. I was about 7 years old. Since then we've stayed at others--we try not to repeat resorts. Though we no longer travel as a family since we've grown older and gone our seperate ways, the Poly holds fond memories of our first Disney trip. I've been going to Disney with my fiance for the past three years and we like staying at different resorts each time.

Our first resort was Port Orleans (now French Quarter) back in December 1999 for what was our belated honeymoon. :)

We know we want to go back but since then we have decided to try a few new places. We would probably think about staying at PO again on our next trip except it is closed for refurbishment (I kind of liked the idea of our first trip was at PO and then taking DS for his first trip there as well but no go) so we are thinking about trying the Polynesian if good discounts or just go back to CSR which we really loved.

My first trip I was 14 and we stayed in a camper in FW. My sister and I still talk about that trip. EPCOT was just being built then. We were in awe the whole time we were there. We thought everything was so cool!!

My first trip as an adult was to WL. I will never forget the feeling of walking into the lobby the first time. I think it will always be my favorite resort. So many wonderful memories.

Our first stay was at Dixie Landings in 2000. It was a wonderful and memorable vacation. can't wait for our 2nd trip!!!

Ours was All Star Music. We were back once and hated it. We stayed at All Star Sports twice and loved it. Go figure. After staying on-site once, we bought into DVC :). Since then we have stayed at the following using points and cash:

OKW
BWV
VWL
BCV
Polynesian
CBR
CR
Swan (does this count? ;))
AKL

I think our next non-DVC part of the trip will be PO-FQ (if it's open) or possibly PO-Riverside. I would return to any of the resorts we have been to except for the very first. I just don't like the theming and it's too spread out.

My first and only resort was ASMO in November, and I tell you, I loved being onsite so much, I never want to stay off site AGAIN!!!! Next time, funds permitting, my best friend and I will stay there for the Soap Weekend (who knows when), take a cruise, and stay at one of the All Stars again, the week of my birthday.

First trip to WDW(as an adult): POFQ July 2002

Have you gone back or tried other resorts instead?

Since POFQ is closed, we will be staying at Pop Century & the Wilderness Lodge for our next trip. :) I will miss POFQ though. :(
