What's the easiest way to do this?

We are waitlisted for Aug. 13 at AKV. If that doesn't come through then we want Aug. 10 at SSR, but I haven't gotten into that with Member Services. What's the best way to do that? How long should I wait for that AKV room before I give up and use the points for SSR? I can't get the AKV room for cash or I would just do that and have it settled. There will be 3 nights in between that we'll be paying cash for some room or another - I am waiting for AP rates before I sort that part out.

Oh, I should have said we have a room-only ressie 8/10 thru 8/14 at AKL. I can modify the night of the 14th off if we get AKV, or I can modify the night of the 10th off if we add SSR. The room-only can stay like it is (at rack rate) but I am hoping I can switch to an AP rate once they release the rates past Aug. 2. So we won't end up with no room, and if we don't get AKV for 8/14 and SSR is full 8/10 then we can bank the points.
