The difference is he is super rich and famous, has a fat pad with grotto pool, hangs out with rock/movie stars and throws lavish parties with scantally clad hot chicks and rock/movie stars.

yeah i really don't give a darn who lives with who or how many people are involved as long as they're all adults. I just hate the message it sends our young women and am, I think too intelligent to believe it's as simple as they're all just more free then most people. I do think women who make these choices are doing so frequently in response to childhood experiences esp. father issues. So I have a problem with the men in their lives even as adults.
I dislike Howard Stern alot but I have often heard him ask the young women on his show what happened while growing up and they often confirm this.
I don't think it should be outlawed. I just think it's messed up ykwim? When I see Bridget's mom and dad or step? watching her strip in a clearly sexual way I feel like there are no normal boundaries in their lives and it's just creepy. A man seeing a naked woman is going to react in a normal way and yuck. So I"m a complete hypocrite because I do watch sometimes and get sucked in to it all.

There are matriarchial tribes in Africa with several wives as well because the wives are status (along with cows) and also because they help out with all of the work that needs to be done in the house and taking care of the cows.
I don't blame them. I think I'd take another wife over another husband if I had that much to do around the house.

I agree with you; If you have that much work, split it out. Don't just run the adults into the ground trying to survive. If I could give someone else part of the housework and still get along with them, I'd jump on that deal quick!

A major point would be the sexual relationships would all be between equals who were all adults, and nobody's kids would be treated any differently. Some people do treat their step-children differently than their offspring, so they wouldn't be good candidates (in my mind) for polygamy, polyandry, or polyamorous relationships. A previous poster mentioned the split between Islam and Christianity geneology... That's a good example of polygamy done poorly.

Great idea, but then, so is utopia! You don't see many Shakers around nowadays, either!

And the multiple girlfriend thing was not created for the show nor is it new. He's always had mulitple "official" girlfriends (and mulitple "unofficial"). Even just a few years ago he had 7--Holly was one of the seven.

Last night I watched a "Cribs" show about the Playboy Mansion taped in 2005 and he had 7 girls then. It was patently obvious though that Holly was the main squeeze, however. She was even named in the show, and the other six were just there. She led some of the tour too.

That's not a completely fair statement because both Holly and Bridget are working, or at least starting to. Not sure about Kendra though, I usually skip through her segments. Bridget is working on a master's degree in journalism or maybe communications. And she has her own radio show right now. Holly is working at Playboy. So they are working, not just mooching.
