Looking at the different types of staterooms to book... what is the difference between the white wall, partial obstruction, extended verandah, navigator verandah?

We are traveling with a 3yo and wonder if it will make a difference to him or not... I'm assuming with the navigator's verandah, it's a size thing?

The whitewall verandah's on the Dream (Cat 6a and 6b) have a white wall that comes up to about shin height. It did not obstruct our view at all - great room. The Navigators verandah on the Dream has an obstruction at the top of the verandah (which from reviews that I have read is not much of an obstruction)- some I believe have small balconies and some are normal size.

We stayed in a extended balcony (cat 5e) and it was great. These are at the far aft of the ship.
