My BF finally agreed that we could go to DW for the first weekend in December. However, it seems as though none of the DW hotels are available. Can someone please tell me why?

Is this a busy weekend? I looked at touring plans and it did not seem to bad.

I am pretty sure after reading this board for the past couple months, that it is indeed going to be a very busy weekend! The Pop Warner kids will be there from Dec 4-10. They have all the values and POR booked. Mousefest is also starting that weekend. I think they are at the Swan. I am booked from Nov 28-Dec 2 and am convinced that it is going to be alot busier than it has been in the past couple years.

Did you try calling the Swan/Dolphin to see if they have anything available?

I was actually interested in one of the Deluxe hotels. But nothing was available there.

I did try Swan/Dolphin and there is availability, but I was concerned about crowds when everything else is booked.

Did you call, or did you use the website? Wise DISboarders tipped me off to the fact that the website often says the hotels are full when they're not. I would call, and keep calling daily (there might be cancellations).

Just a word that fully booked resorts don't necessarily translate into full parks. With Pop Warner and Mousefest more people will be staying on site rather than offsite. If offsite resorts are also at or near capacity then there is trouble.

pirate: Just checked at many of the Deluxe resorts and found availabilty at many of them after the 3rd which is on a Saturday, For some reason the 3rd looks to be busy but it looks pretty good after that day. Try your dates after the 3rd if you are trying to go to a Deluxe Resort. Now the Moderates as well as the Values do look to be pretty booked for that time frame even after the 3rd.. As 1 OP stated earlier it's probably due to Pop Warner. We've been to the Parks last year when Pop Warner was there and we honestly thought the parks were pretty great as far as crowds go because Pop Warner is at Disney's Wide World of Sports for most of the time or so it seems. Good Luck, Chip.

Pop Warner is a nationwide youth football and cheerleading organization.

Both my mom and sister called for the first weekend in Dec - both looking for FL resident rates.....nothing lower than $249 a night....

they passed!

Saturday Dec 3rd is the "bad" night. It's not too hard getting something for the week before or after, just that one night is just about impossible! My next trip goes up to Dec 2nd, and I could not find anything reasonable on-site available if I wanted to include the night of Dec 3rd!

Probably not too much chance of anything opening up, but you never know!

And don't forget the Christmas Parade taping on the 3rd. That seems to draw a lot of people in. I think there may be a lot of people that are staying in WDW before they head out on their cruise that week-end. Add Pop Warner to that and all the MouseFest stuff and you get a lot of filled up rooms. It is also an incredibly popular time with the DVC owners. But the Pop kids don't actuallly get there until the week-end, maybe even Sun. I'm not expecting huge crowds when I go. I arrive on Nov 29 and leave Dec 5.
