We were at the party on the 8th and sat beside a CM (the white marked off boxes on the curb) and several off duty CMs. They explained the horse goes much slower coming out of Libery Square b/c he is guided by light and it is dark over the bridge and they must walk him over. Also several CMs in our area made repeated announcements about NO flash photos of the horseman and mentioned when the horse spooked into the crowd a few weeks ago (not sure when). Still, people took flash photos
, and the CM commented that "you'd think they'd learn after what happened before." The photos people have shown here are great, but I did not take the chance with a flash, and just enjoyed the headless horseman slowly trotting by! (We were right in front of the castle after the villains show and just kept that spot for the last parade.)
They loudly announced numerous times to turn off external video camera lights and to keep them off during the parade. I asked the CM next to me about flash photos of the parade, and she said that flashes were fine, it's the constant light from a video camera that can even throw the floats off.
