I just don't get fruit-on-the-bottom yogurt. I like my yogurt pre-stirred. The top part never has enough flavor, and then there's that big gob of fruit goo on the bottom when you're done. Does anybody actually prefer the stuff that isn't blended?
I prefer the fruit on the bottom! With stirred yogurt, every bite is the same. Fruit on the bottom, each bite is different...as you get closer to the bottom the yogurt gets sweeter and sweeter until the fruit explodes in your mouth like a yummy dessert.
Years ago I remember serving fruit on the bottom yogurt like a sundae. You flip the container over into a bowl, poke a hole on the bottom of the container (if needed) and lift it off.
As I remember, it used to be (MANY years ago) that you could only buy fruit on the bottom (unless it was vanilla, coffee, or plain). So I grew up on that and still prefer Dannon fruit on the bottom - blueberry's my favorite!
I love the fruit on the bottom one! I eat about half the yogurt unstirred and then when there is a little left I stir it up so its mainly fruit....LOVE IT! I hate that blended stuff.
I do stir it. I just don't like the way it's never uniform. In order to stir it really well, I'd have to empty it into a bowl or risk having some of it slosh over the sides. That's just way too much work.
I can't believe I saw this post when I signed on. I had just sat down with my Mixed Berry Fruit On The Bottom Lofat Yogurt which I shake then stir and think is oh so yummmmmy.
Ugh, I HATE fruit-on-the-bottom yogurt!!! I've given it a chance in the past and always tried desperately to mix it adequately but somehow always failed and wound up with that gross giant wad of leftover fruit mush on the bottom of the container which of course I can't eat, so then it all seems so wasteful....argh, far too many complex issues involved with the FOTB yogurt.
Besides that, my 2 favorite flavors (lemon and key lime) don't come in FOTB varieties.
I agree - there's something about the fruit-on-the-bottom that tastes different than the pre-stirred. I don't like it. What I do like is the cottage cheese with fruit on the side.

I loved doing the "sundae" thing and dumping the carton out with the fruit on the top. Then I learned the sublime control of the fruit on bottom and the "*good stuff distribution". So much better than premixed. It used to be a dessert. Premixed is breakfast.
We usually only buy fruit on the bottom. I am also one who likes to eat most of the yogourt plain, then mix the fruit with the small amount at the end.
