My camera almost never left my side! There are a few I could share... As well as a few erase all evidence types!

Animal Kingdom is definitely a great park for photography. I do not consider myself a photographer by any means, but I love taking pictures there.

Ugh, I definitely don't envy your flight options, that's for sure! I never thought it would be so difficult to get from one place to the next.

Those totally remind me of a pair of shoes I own! They're awesome!

Yay, flights booked! That's always the signifier for me that a trip is truly real.

I'm firmly in old fartdom and always have been, I've never been a partyer!
Disneyland, nice choice, and the first to pick a park other than WDW!
Oh man, I hate getting flights out of here. It's a bit easier from the provincial capitol at least, but that means 5 hours of driving. Either way...

I'm so glad that party is over. It was causing me so much stress!
Hmm a good tripod? Honestly, something sturdy is always best, but I have a really cheap and fairly flimsy little travel one that does the trick in Disney. I have a nice big heavy Velbon I use at home. Manfrotto always make a good tripod, and Vanguard are pretty good too.

Howdy!

How are we all on this fine Wednesday morning?

I can't complain. In 72 hours from now my best friend's wedding will be completely over, just the fun weekend of camping ahead and then back to normal life and waiting for Disney.

I've been getting up early every morning to take my dogs for a walk before work. I feel great! I can't go far or fast because Sheeka is still healing from her knee injury, but this morning we went slow for 25 minutes and she did really well. I'm so pleased with her progress!

I'm going to play some catch-up with the Day-to-Day plans here.

Day 2

Up and at 'em early again! We need to catch a bus to either...

We won't be going in the parks though, we will be heading straight up the monorail ramp to catch a ride here:





8:30am: Kona Cafe, Polynesian Resort

So that we can have some of this:



Tonga toast!! Best breakfast food ever!

After we've had our fill, we will monorail back to Magic Kingdom. We have no concrete plans for this day, but generally speaking I want to see all of New Fantasyland first! I can't wait to ride the Little Mermaid!

I have planned for the possibility of a mid-day break. We will be going all day and besides that, we want to take full advantage of our first time at AKL. Depending on how we feel, the weather, etc. this is very flexible. Also we may go back to have some lunch, depending on whether or not we eat in the park.

After our break it's back to Magic Kingdom again.



We will hopefully get as many rides done as possible. I like to go commando style for the first couple of days so I can slow down toward the end of the trip.















We have a very important ADR tonight. One I will be jittery all day waiting for...

6:20pm: Be Our Guest restaurant, Magic Kingdom park.

As beautiful as the whole thing is, I hope we're seated in the ball room, it's just absolutely stunning. Oh man, this is the ADR that gets me REALLY excited to go!

After dinner (if we have time, meaning if I don't spend the entire rest of the evening in the restaurant wandering around and taking pictures) we plan to skip the parades, shows, and fireworks in favour of shorter wait times and lots of rides!

MK closes at 9 so we're going to stay until then and then head back to AKL to get to bed early. We have yet another early morning ahead!

Unfortunately I don't have time to add a Photography 101 lesson today, but does anyone have a request for next time, when I have some actual time to myself?

Ah - Tonga Toast - I think you are right. I think it IS the best breakfast food on earth.

Plans for the day look great. Your pictures are stunning! I love that lobby picture at the Poly. Your lesson can be to tell me how to achieve that look. Love it.

Oh - and Bog was beautiful inside. the food was average, but the experience was great!

Yeaaaa for Tonga Toast! I have that on my to do list this trip as well. Loved it last time. Just an awesome cube of rich, soft, sweet, deep-fried goodness.

I share your excitement for BOG as well! Although I really want to be seated in the West Wing so I can stare at the Beast's portraits transformation in sync with the last petal of the rose falling.
